Hotel Choice, 2, 3, 4, or 5 Star?

Initially I was thinking about doing it in some crappy suburb hotel near me, but I just had the idea of why not go to a 5 star hotel downtown and make a nice day of it? Day before SN I'll have a nice big expensive meal, then the next day a relaxing spa day, then 10pm take the Meto, put up a sheet with some duct tape or packing tape in the doorway with a note to call the police on it so the hotel staff don't need to see a death scene, and then go back to the bed and take my drink.

Sounds very-very good. In my case, I will have to find 2-3 star hotel for 1-2 weeks (depends on how long it will take to find N there). If I have some money, maybe I will take a 5-star, go to the gym to increase my metabolism and will enjoy my last days in the pool.

There's probably literally thousands of hotels around me lol--but yeah, if you can, you can always go to a nice 5 star downtown, I mean technically you don't have to pay for it lol. Seriously though, If it has a better view than your place, it's what you want--might as well have your last days be enjoyable right?

As a heads up, more name-brand like hotels (say like Marriott as I know they do this) take cash places, or let you have third party booking, BUT they still need a card on site at book-in for "incidentals" (i.e. you trash the room). I mention this in case you might have people look for you. They can easily track your card to exactly where you are, in case you were wanting a completely untraceable location.

Might not be as bad in your area (don't know where you are), but it applies where I am in places I've been.

You have just given to me a brilliant idea. But I am not sure if the hotel I will try to stay in, will charge me before or after.
And to remain kind of anonymous, at least passport should be fake. And credit card should never be used on the spot.

Haha I'm not too worried about being found. Speaking of a better view, I'm thinking I should do it back out west, Chicago is very unsightly to me. Only trick would be explaining what that white powder is to security. I'll probably have to drive.

I'm in craploads of debt, but, my estate would probably come out very slightly in the green once settled.

I mean it's ok...butttt.... I have a strong preference for the mountains. It's part of my history being from New Zealand, studying in Austria, living in northern Arizona. Although my Arizona choice would probably be a Scottsdale resort like the Phoenician. A classic.

Ahh, yeah there is some beautiful things in Arizona. I liked the area in California too actually... hotel in one side kine of mountain like, bit to another, ocean. kind of a nice choice or mix.

Ahh, yeah there is some beautiful things in Arizona. I liked the area in California too actually... hotel in one side kine of mountain like, bit to another, ocean. kind of a nice choice or mix.

To die in Death Valley, Yellowstone park, Grand Canyon sounds so romantic. Or somewhere near Golden Gate Bridge

Actually they will wish it, and the upper star ones will CALL your room at a random time after! So another heads up. You don't want to risk a potential issue where they know you're in the room, but might suspect an issue.

But if you return to hotel at 9-10 p.m. you are not likely to be disturbed and will die from N or SN at 11-12. That would be so rude of maids to come and clean your room at night.

Besides there's probably 'groups of people outside off and on that police may be called with higher security'... so probably not the best choice regardless. (tried to phrase that diplomatically)

Was thinking of going to that place in the desert where suicides are frequent and they try to hush everything. What happens there stays there !!
Methinks another place might be more suitable , more relaxing . Decisions decisions!!

Might as well get the best hotel, you won't have to play for it after all. Better yet, put it on a credit card and stay as long as you want.

Just don't do what I did and chicken out ctbing, and end up wasting over $400 on a hotel.

I'd like to get the most expensive place I could afford. Any will get the job done, but there's nothing wrong with being nice and comfy while doing it, especially if you can't be at home.

I used to not care about motel quality, but one time an airline massively screwed up and gave me the night in their super nice hotel with fancy dinner as compensation, and it was an amazing experience. It technically it wasn't even that fancy, just much better than anything I've ever experienced. I want to do that again. I deserve that.

Personally I am going to pick a clean classy place. Last thing I want to do is die in filth and squalor especially when I know the credit card bill will never be paid. Yeah, I know that's a little messed up but let's just be honest here.

In the scenario I have in my head, I will have saved up some money for the occasion. However, I do not know how to drive so going anywhere extra fancy/outside of my city is highly unlikely. I will get a the nicest that I can get in town and go there. All that really matters is that there's going to be internet for talking to you guys, that it's a smoking room, and that I have music and comfort items.
