My avatar is actually a cover to a Sandman comic book, by the ever talented Dave McKean. There were different shades of the pic on google images. I couldn't decide which one, so I said the hell with it & made them into a gif.

My username comes from the novel by late lamented genius of crime fiction Elmore Leonard - I've read and enjoyed plenty of works of serious literature, but no writers work ever gave me as much pure pleasure as Leonard's best books. We'll never see his like again. My avatar is the cover art of the album I was listening to constantly when I signed up, Tomorrows Harvest by Boards of Canada - its atmosphere really encapsulates the period we're in right now, the sense of a deep feeling of sadness at the climate and economic crises on the horizon.

The avatar is a villain Queen Nehelenia from a 90's anime called Sailor Moon. I used to watch that anime on the Internet all the time when I was in primary school.
Her sets of powers are something I'd probably have if I went full supervillain lol. Also her backstory (not the beauty part, I'm not that pretty or vain xD), and the way she was defeated really kind of resonate with mine.

The reason for my avatar is because I'm not.

The username - I needed a verb instead of a noun (feel stuck enough without limiting myself with another label, and nouns -or adjectives- are too stiff to not be labels), and I wanted the verb to be about something good that I experienced. I have nobody who'd care about what I experience(d) so I felt like at least shouting it into the void mentioning it on the internet.

A adore Kandinksy too, def in my top twenty favourite artists have you read his book: Concerning the Spiritual in Art -I read it years ago, seem to remember enjoying it alot-so long ago though!

Thought it would be cool to start a thread to show why we chose the name and avatar for this site.

My name is because I love the smashing pumpkins and the 2 closest people in my life have CTB with bullets, so I found it quite fitting since I thought that was the best way out. Now I know otherwise.

My avatar... outside and walking my dog. Looked up and saw the light coming through the trees and took a pic. The beam took on a new meaning.
