I think the current state of the global economy and finances is stressing me out a bit, especially in this horrible country I live in (I'm from Argentina), where anyone can fart anywhere in the world and everything here falls apart.

I thought this kind of thing didn't stress me out, but it seems to be getting to me a bit... it's making me feel a little more suicidal than I already am.

It'll get worse if Trump's tariffs kick in for all countries with a possible recession. 😐😑😕

The whole DOGE and USAID thing is understandable and doesn't bother me, but the whole tariff thing seems like complete nonsense to me. I don't understand what he's doing; he's going to destroy everything. Who wins from all this?

I agree, there is a certain North American leader that is really stressing me out much more than I should be.

Yeah, Argentina has insane inflation. Here in my country prices of rent and groceries has gone up but it is still livable.

Yeah, high inflation is a historical fact here...

If the whole "DOGE and USAID thing" is understandable and doesn't bother you, then all the rest shouldn't bother you either. It's all cut from the same cloth, the same ethos. Sorry, you don't get to pick and choose.

Welcome, it's now officially the time of the billionaires, of corporations, of big business, the 1-3%, the ultra wealthy. It's time to cement the absurd global income inequality, the wageslavery and exploitation of workers. To rig the game even more in their favor. More deregulation, less oversight, more monopolistic and oligarchic behavior to come. A global world sliding back into nationalism, hate, racism, and protectionism. You have two especially egotistical, greedy, selfish man-child's running things, destroying things (elon/trump) and a backwards ass conservative party run amok. Buckle in, it's not even been three months since taking over. The damage will be lasting.

USAID funded some left-wing magazines aligned with the political parties that destroyed Argentina. Putting on tariffs creates a tariff war, everyone loses... I don't see the point.

tariffs = protectionism/antiglobalism crusade
this is a smokescreen because none of it addresses the fundamental problems of capitalism, gross inequality and the exploitation of working people.

elon/trump serve themselves and thus the wealthy, but certainly prefer wealthy people who are "like them". they are similar characters. none of the economic damage they do will affect them, their personal crusades and revenge are all that matter. the very fact that the worlds wealthiest person, absurdly so, has been given (purchased) a position in a govt of a very powerful nation should make any rational person worry. it shows how far things have fallen.

It's a repeat of the 80s 'trickle down' economic policies.

I was under the impression that Argentina seemed to be on a good track, all things considered. I'm not necessarily a supporter of Milei and he seems to be a bit touched in the head, but a continuation of Peronist policies would have collapsed the country, and from what I've seen so far he already seems to be a lot more effective than Macri.

No one can save Argentina. It's a country destined for failure.

...a tariff war, everyone loses... I don't see the point.
the point is that neither elon or trump care. it's revenge and personal crusades driving all of this. did we think the world's richest man-child was going to act accordingly, rationally, after seeing all the shit he's said and done for years now??
It's a repeat of the 80s 'trickle down' economic policies.
and it's those economic policies from the 80's that brought us here. reaganomics/thatcherism/neoliberalism is the shit that kicked things off bringing us to the absurd, immoral income inequality today which is global.

worker wages have stagnated since the 80s meanwhile productivity has gone up. so all those gains were going to fewer and fewer people. no surprise that reagan, thatcher and conservatives in general have always been anti-union. wage staganation = worker exploitation. people have been trained to complain about taxes when in fact the real issue is not being paid living wages. it's like focusing on the appetizer instead of the main course.
