• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

    👉 View the ledger here

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

    Donate via cryptocurrency:

    Bitcoin (BTC):
    Ethereum (ETH):
    Monero (XMR):

I want everything to go to charity, but I'm not sure what the best course of action is. I feel like it'd be less bothersome to just... Make one big donation before I CTB, but also if I fail (which hopefully, won't happen, but you never know) then I'm left with nothing. I also can't afford a notary (besides, I don't even know where to get one) but I do have a will, however I don't have witnesses to prove I did sign it of my own accord so I'm scared it might not be valid, but if it is still valid then it probably is the safest way?

I'm a bit at a loss there, hoping to get some insight because why is dying so complicated?

Is there a family member you could leave it to? It seems easier

I have siblings and both my parents are alive, but I trust none of them to give to charity because my older sister is in dire need of money, my younger sister is greedy as it gets and my younger brother is just not great with money; as for my parents, my dad "doesn't see the point" and my mum acts as if she herself is the charity, I don't really think any of them would use it the way I want unfortunately

You might want to check with your bank - mine has option to make transfer at specific date/point of time so you could set transfer for specific day and if you fail to ctb you just cancel scheduled transfer.

This might differ between countries, but I think wills usually are written in the presence of a lawyer, both as witness and to ensure that it's legally correct and accurate.

Thanks for the idea, I'll try to see if I can do that

In my country at least, you can redact your own will, but there's a structure to it and you need 2 people (usually, not beneficiaries) to witness you sign the will. You also have to hand-write it here, but normally it's good, my main issue is that there's no one to prove I signed it out of my own free accord

In my country witnesses can just be admin staff at the solictors office, not sure if it's the same where you are.
