Looking for a way out

It's specifically harmful to say when you don't have a clear way to help ease the pain of the struggling individual or help improve their condition.

You're basically giving them false hope just because you don't want them to end their life. This means that you're not saying this statement cus u know things will get better but rather as a way to keep the individual alive regardless of whether their condition will improve or not.

This could lead to them experiencing more suffering in hope that things will indeed get better.

Personally, I never use this statement with anyone, cus no one knows if things will get better for sure.

Despite being told that things will get better for the last 5 years, they really haven't, and have actually gone way worse than before.
