The OP mentions that the effects of SN are completely reversible, but I remember reading a medical article where brain images of a victim of SN poisoning showed effects similar to that of carbon monoxide poisoning. To me that would mean similar sequelae too. I'll try to find the article again and post it here.

EDIT: Found it.

"Severe Methemoglobinemia due to Sodium Nitrite Poisoning" : https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4987464/

28-year-old man, brought to emergency one hour after ingesting 15g of SN. There's a line in the Abstract I didn't catch before though " The patient was discharged on day 7 without neurologic impairment". However CO sequelae (which I'm comparing here) often takes weeks to appear.

Relevant bit:
Cranial T2-weighted MRI findings 3 days after sodium nitrite ingestion were similar to those in carbon monoxide poisoning. It has been reported that the globus pallidus is most susceptible to hypoxia. Severe methemoglobinemia can cause severe tissue hypoxia similar to that in carbon monoxide poisoning; this may explain the involvement of the globus pallidus in our case.

All that said, maybe I'm wrong on this. But it doesn't hurt to bring this info up, I suppose.

I'm not sure. I've ordered some SN from the States, which shouldn't trigger any hassles with Customs. I wanted lab grade SN, mainly because some food grade SN is cut with other preservatives. Last time I checked, SN is 100% legal in Australia.

That's my plan. I'm thinking along the lines of remote bushland, similar to where Ivan Milat murdered a number of backpackers in the 1990s.
Is the food grade sodium nitrite not as lethal as the lab grade?

A) took sublethal dose
B) vomited too much
C) this method is not uniformly lethal. Who knows what % of people it kills.
I know that; I meant to draw attention to these
"The patient divulged purchasing sodium nitrite online and self-administering after reading a website dedicated to euthanasia"
but I missed
"Toxicology was consulted and felt that sodium nitrite was not the cause of his organ dysfunction"

With regard to the kidney failure, they attributed it to myoglobinuria from muscle breakdown... a product of lying in the same position for 24 hours. So it's very indirectly attributed to SN, but could be caused by anything that renders you unconscious like that. I don't have comments regarding the cardiac issues.

It does not state the dosage that he took, as well if any antiacids or antiemitics were taken as well.
Furthermore he admitted to purchasing SN.

My suggestion: Before you take the SN, hide any leftover quantities. The better it's hidden the less likely it'd be found. That way if you fail and get locked up, you'd still have enough powder left over for round two assuming it isn't found. Trying to CTB is like playing chess, you need to know your moves and predict your opponents. Stay two steps ahead.

Today I read an article about poisoning man SN in my country. The man was found at home already unconscious and after 11 hours in the intensive care unit, died. There were no drugs, ethanol, or other substances in the blood. Apparently only SN. I can't even imagine what has been going on in a dying mind for such a time.

no information how long it took to fall unconscious. The article is very short and is only a medical report.

The second article says that the woman had poisoning after eating a badly washed pumpkin.

It's about as painful as carbon monoxide poisoning and people die from that in their sleep all the time.

Worst you can expect is a headache, some stomach pain, fast heartbeat, sweating and feeling very drunk (blurry vision and nausea) right before you pass out.

If you have ever been very drunk before, it's nothing you won't be able to handle.
That is a very direct and comforting answer. And thanks for giving a comparison to what it's similar to, pain wise. That eases my worries.

It could be that it wasn't an actual ctb attempt. Maybe totally accidental and it wasn't a large amount of SN ingested? Between 1 to 4g has killed some people.

I ordered my SN--it's on it's way. Thank you, USA large online retailer. There have been more news reports of SN and its use in suicides, so I'm glad to get it now before it gets much more difficult. I'll store it somewhere cool, dry, and dark until I'm ready, which I feel is not far off.

It's kind of a relief to know I'll have it when I need it!

Anti-acid is optional. Not taking it increases the risk of vomiting and stomach pain. That being said, most people I've seen on here have taken it.

No no no antacid or acid reducer IS NOT optional. Antacid or acid reducer is a must. We must take it before taking SN. PH below 5 will disrupt SN absorption by half. This is also the reason why we fast. Eating food wilI lower our gastric PH. I thought everyone know this already. While Anti emetic IS optional. Please dont say wrong things to people.

Can calcium carbonate and sodium carbonate act as acid reducer?

Yes i was quoting you @Vegrau , my bad

Fine. Also honestly ffs no one ever read our research. We posted it on this thread. So many links. So many pictures that accompany it. But did anyone read it? Noooooooo. Why do I even bother? Why do I even care? This is your life even if you botched it it have nothing to do with me. Why do I even do this? Why do I even care when people dont even care about themselves to actually research this themselves. Why am I a fucking idiot that still care about others? Fuck me. Here the proof you have requested. Enjoy.

That I never look into. Since I plan on using tagamet and have tagamet. So I dont look into other alternative for antacid or acid reducer.

I welcome anyone to come and correct me if I am wrong. And no I am not intelligent. I am just trying to find the best info for my self and my own research. Since I have it why not share it. Its the least I can do for this place. Only through correcting each other can we eliminate misinformation. People suffered enough. No need for them to suffer through more confusion. Its enough.

Calm down your tone for christ sake.
If you refer to your post number #3324 then yes, i sincerely apologize for not reading a 2 fucking months old post.
I asked you in a polite way, you could have simply shared the source, without ranting.

I will look into it tomorrow, thanks for sharing.
