I read it and that's why I'm conflicted. There is a difference between stopping pain and just overall creating a set of new problems. And giving everyone the choice to end their life for any and all reason is very problematic and will only lead to a new set of problems. Death shouldn't be the first choice.
Honestly, every right you give ends up harming some way or the other. Driver's licence opens up for accidents. Marriage licence opens up for trauma, pain , children not having both their parents besides them , medical licence where the doctor being negligent opens up for loss of lives. Having a right to die also will have its set of pros and cons. But the way all other rights were given with the assumption that one is an adult and of sound mind and will exercise the right when one sees fit , so goes the same for right to die as well.
I visited this website and it has only 420 signatures! Is it that people are not aware of it or is it that people really don't want this right?
Sorry for the late reply... Great points about rights and licenses also have consequences. I'm not really sure how it's promoted. Maybe that's the problem? Not sure how the site works exactly.
