Venting isolation over comfort

well actually not really, i would rather choose to be alone then people leaving me. i dont deal well with abandonment, and i always end up thinking that they will leave me anyways. people only like me for a short time, but then i become boring and uninteresting. a toy that gets replaced with a new one. am i that average and not unique, why do i get replaced..

knowing that they dont like u and u will end up leaving them first is better than choosing to gaslight yourself, thinking your perfect, but then getting ur hopes crushed

its hard to gain the hope and trust in people back

when will i find people that suit my personality?

Is being around people comforting? I'm realizing the older I get, the less I enjoy being around people to the point that I prefer being alone most of the time now. For me isolation = comfort. What's worrisome is that ever since the pandemic, my personality has changed where I don't feel like engaging with people anymore, nor do I want to participate in social gatherings/events. I also lost trust in most people and humanity writ large, so I completely identify with what you're saying. I really don't think it's you - that you're a "toy" or some "object" that can be used at someone else's disposal - it's the world we're in now. It seems that so many people have lost any sense of morality and could care less about people.

Maybe we just have to accept in this post-pandemic world, there is no sense of community anymore and that it's not realistic for you to expect that you'll find people that accept you for who you are. I've accepted this as just the "way things are now," but at the same time it begs the question: is it really this bad, or have I just become detached and delusional?

I'm more comfortable in isolation than I am being around people, personally. Finding the right people to be around sounds like a fruitless chore.

From a very young age, people found me weird and avoided me or used me so I grew accustomed to being on my own. I later found out I have autism. I guess that explains it.

I think our attitude to isolation vs comfort changes over time. There are times were we'd like to be alone and there are times in which we miss others

Most people are emotionally shallow and fake and its difficult to find people who you can truly connect with on your own level.
I avoid people nowadays because Im tired of getting hurt for no logical reason.
Youre probably better off without them anyway.
