Yeah, I've seen them both. If a 12-year-old can hang herself successfully, then why can't I? I don't get how they manage to overcome the SI.

At full suspension the Survival Instinct doesn´t matter anymore

Yes, but you need to overcome the SI to put a noose round your neck and start hanging. I just feel scared of this method and surviving with injuries but to each their own.

I think if you have a problem with putting a noose around your neck and stepping from a stool, you would also have problem to jump from a building, take N/SN and so on...

Not true. Different methods suit different people. I've already tried to OD once so I'll keep continuing with the OD. It's what I'm most comfortable with.

Being a bigger person at 195cm and 100kg, full suspension is the way I'll have to go. That will be 10-15 seconds of hell and discomfort.

Why does it advise against a nylon rope? I thought a nylon rope was good? And wouldnt a necktie break?

I know many times nylon ropes worked if they are strong enough. I would never use a necktie

I tried using nylon rope but it was just way too painful and kept cutting into my skin. But it was pretty precise as I could feel the tingling sensation way faster than what I am currently using which is a thick scarf.

Did you pad it somehow, or was it just the rope on your neck?

No padding. I don't have anything small enough like a towel to put there. Could I use the scarf as padding?

A scarf if not too thick, can work, but would use a neckcloth

Is it good to take a deep breath before you hang?

Yes and no. If you take a too deep breath and can be also really uncomfortable if you are not able to breath anymore. If you hang partial and still be able to breath a little at the beginning of your hanging it´s not necessary...

Do just a small breath in when doing full?

When full I would do no breath, just like nop air in, no air out of my lungs, my chest staying neutral, not breathe in or out

I'm trying to find a (mostly) fail-proof way to do a partial suspension. However, being a younger person, I don't have ready access to just buying some nice rope or a nice long scarf. My current options are a belt, my computer cords, or a neck tie. I don't have a closet that I can suspend myself from, so I'm thinking of using the metal bars from by bed headboard, or a doorknob. What would you guys advise? And btw, I'm shamefully much heavier than I should be due to constant stress eating, so how would my weight affect that?

Sorry if this has already been answered, it's a lot to scroll through. How do I secure the rope to the metal rod I'll be hanging from?

I'm going to try this on Wednesday. I ordered climbing rope from Amazon, it should be here by the time I get off work on Wednesday. Fingers crossed.
