For a while sometimes i randomly feel this weird intense sadness come over me from time to time. does anyone know what this is?

Tell us more. Is there anything you think might be related to it? Or is it just coming out of the blue for no discernable reason? Any triggers or any sort of thoughts that come up when it happens?

It honestly depends. sometimes its when im already sad sometimes its out of no where. sometimes thoughts of past trauma come up and sometimes there not really any thoughts.

I get a sinking feeling in my chest when that happens. It sucks. Do you find things trigger it?

Sometimes things do sometimes they dont it's honestly very confusing

All I can do is roll another cigarette, make another coffee, try to get busy doing something and hope it goes away

Ill try to do that more since its worked before in the past. but what about at night when im trying to fall asleep?

Hot chocolate or warm milk or chamomile tea with a bit of tv, give it 20 minutes then try to go back to bed. Or if you just can't sleep, I stay up and just get busy with something and accept I'm not going to have a long sleep. There's only so much you can do, but I don't find it easy to force myself to sleep. If you have someone to cuddle up to though, that helps
