If you utilize an just an antiemetic (Zofran, etc) as well as using no benzos, is the method still feasible? Also, can Ondansetron be used as an antiemetic if others are not accessible? From what I've read, Ondansetron is not on the list of recommended meds but can be just as useful if there are no other options.

Benzos aren't necessary. I think ondansetron should okay.
It's a matter of comfort whether you can tolerate the tachycardia for a few minutes and benzos make you calmer as well. Alternative is beta blockers (propanalol)

Benzos are more for ones personal comfort since they lower anxiety levels and can cause loss of consciousness faster, they're not needed though.
