This is horribly selfish of me,
But after a failed attempt and worsening mental state, imagining that if this is as easy as that,
if Stan passed on just like that, even if he may have vomited or suffered some pain (I sincerely hope not for his sake),
it relieves a lot of painful anxiety right now. I am hurting more than I ever thought possible and CTB can't become yet another source of emotional torture. "It's a very simple process" he repeatedly said, while always acknowledging vomiting and (some) pain as a likely risk.
