I think the most important thing is if one retains their awareness and sense of self/identity. Because if that's the case id imagine it would be horrible, but if their cognitive abilities are dialed back that they don't know/understand much of who they are and what happened, and aren't in chronic pain. Then that's fine by me.A vegetative state seems to be different to being braindead when I read about the differences. There are some people in vegetative states that experience some form of consciousness. The clinical definition of being braindead however implies that there is no consciousness. I think though in Internet slang people don't really Differentiate.
