Why do some people get CTB so easily?

I hear people on TV or social media who get CTB... while I'm almost certain they've spent much less time than us studying methods, thinking... or even 10-12 year-old children who get CTB in their parents' home.

There's no logic to CTB. Some have serious mental health issues and have been obsessed with it for years, while others have never thought about it, aren't mentally ill, lead normal lives. Something bad happens to them, and then, in 3 months, CTB is over.

Survival instinct and a great desire to die

someone with a weaker SI can do much more methods that you don't even need to study for and with a very big desire to die its much easier to do the method itself or go through the pain.

there's also some ctb survivorship bias we see bc the news isn't going to report on "person who tried suicide is now left brain damaged"

They are desperate and impulsive. A teenage girl tried to jump from the first floor of her high school during lunch break. Did it work? Of course, it didn't. Thankfully, she didn't hurt herself because she fell on grass or something. Another one tried from the second floor, but the janitor managed to catch her. They are both alive. She didn't land on him or anything. They were lucky nothing went wrong with their, forgive me for saying this, dumb plans. Just because you hear about the successful stories of impulsive and desperate people, it doesn't mean they are always successful. Remember that most suicide attempts are not successful, statistically speaking. But since we always hear about successful stories, we think that CTBing is a joke, and we are just overthinking things. I was guilty of this myself. This is a reminder for me and everyone else on this forum. Research is important. Take your time.

I think that's the reason, someone used to dealing with emotional pain will not be blindsided by suicidal thoughts. A "normal" person has not spent years developing skills to deal with severe emotional pains. So in some sense, the mentally trouble people are more resistant in this way.
