I am curious where everyone is from on the forum.

I'm American. I was born in China but immigrated as a teenager.

I'm from the American Midwest. Most of it is just cracked sidewalks, roads with potholes, and broken down houses with boarded-up windows and rotting wood.

But I suppose I have a pessimistic view of where I come from~

if they were born in China, but immigrated to America, they are now American too. American is a nationality, not an ethnicity.

I'm aware of that, but I think you're from where you spent your developmental years. It's a lot harder to adjust to a different culture once you reach your teenage years. I know people who came at 15 and have been here for nearly 30 years who still have an accent from their country of origin, it's really hard to adjust when you've gone through puberty and learned how to socialize in a certain way.

Born in England and lived there a while, then the Netherlands for many years, now in South Carolina USA. I'm very out of place here, but I've simply chosen to believe this makes me cooler than everyone else around me. Which is objectively true anyway, everyone knows rednecks are cringe.

I'm from Brazil, let me explain: living here is basically like living in a tropical version of the movie Idiocracy. It's like being trapped in a reality show where those who shout the loudest and think the least are in charge. Here, we wake up every day with the feeling of being surrounded by absurdities—corruption that never ends, useless bureaucracy, inverted priorities, and a group of people who seem to take pride in knowing nothing, as long as they can make a joke or a meme.
