I give you the option to choose two answers.

My answers are: I am convinced that the vast majority of us are on the good side with a few bad apples.
There is a lot of half-knowledge on here that's not necessarily evil but maybe not thought-through

My third answer would be: Most people on here are in a vulnerable position and struggle existentially, whether good or bad

I find the third of my options quite interesting. I think people who suffer a lot often develop toxic coping skills to deal with it. I watched gore in the past as teenager. It wasn't good for my mental health. But I experienced so much abuse and I had no other way to cope as teenager. I also bullied people online which was really pathetic. And I feel ashamed of it now. I was beaten almost every single day as teenager, bullied at school, suicidality started, I was in a mixed manic-depressive episode and had no one to talk to. There are probably people on here with dark triade traits. Abuse does a lot to people. It changes you fundamentally. I knew someone on here who always considered himself a sociopath. He always struggled with this side of him. Eventually he killed himself. I have to think a lot about him.

Personally, I am really not buying that the narrative portrayed in mainstream media about this forum was true. Personally, I am almost so certain about it like about the fact that my government in Germany is backing a genocide in Palestine. And that this is an injustice of historical relevance. And that we have learned the wrong lessons from history. The media acts like suicide should in fact be illegal. They would love the demand to put everyone in jail who considers a right-do-die a human right. It disgusts me. I dived into this topic quite frequently in the past. I think wild west regulations are not good when it comes to suicide. And not everything on here works perfectly. For example many on here have no clue how to deal with someone who is psychotic. Many people don't get it when someone is psychotic in the first place.

Though, the current legislation sort of wants that people commit crimes in order to die peacefully. They do this to disincentivize suicide. I find this extrememly cruel and cynical. If people cannot cope anymore one should be there for them. In the current form people are forced to jump in front of trains and other horrible things that comes with the risk to get permanent damage. And to end up in an even worse decision. The current system seems to be really perverted for me. As long as the current legislation criminalizes suicide in such a rogue way I am in favor of this forum. And the empirical evidence of research about this forum isn't as certain about correlation and causation of suicides of how the media suggests it. In my opinion the way this forum works is the least bad option of all aviailable options that are currently realistic. I think the way the system is designed makes a forum like this a completely rational, sound and logical conclusion. And I think some people understand that. In my country the vast majority is in favor of a right to die. And I think most average people would understand our position if we traded shoes with them for at least one week. I think most average people are not aware of how horrible life actually can become. And no one can force me to take it more and more of this pain...

Sorry for this rant. I am a little bit emotional this evening. I met a friend and had a somewhat good day. Though, a lot of very rough stuff happened recently and many important decisions will take place soon. And maybe I am soon forced by my life circumstances to commit suicide. And all of this scares me. It overburdens and overwhelms me actually a lot.
