(i.e. the beach or something vs. a particular city or something)Upvote 0Retreat Centers or religious centers like Buddhism temple or Church. Some Asian countries like Sri Lanka has retreat center for you stay a while to learn meditation. If you like to take adventure, you also can be a backpacker to travel around the world. Due to COVID-19 lots of countries close the border like America. If you know camping, you also can stay wild alone. Hopefully you have enough savings for you away from home for a while.Upvote 2

Yes, I was gonna say books too, but it seems you want a physical place without many people. I'm not familiar with Asia and its places to go to, but maybe the park to walk at sunset or something if you're allowed? Sit on a bench and collect your thoughts with the quiet?Last edited:Upvote 0

When it comes to my "special place", it's so called lost place that I discovered some years ago in a forest. It is a very high building with lot of rooms and it has an bunker in the basement, which I wasn't really able to open (probably because I'm really bad at lockpicking).
When I need some break, I go there, go on the roof where I set up my portable solar panel and I use to stay there for a couple of days.
It's a very relaxing place tbh..
No cars, no people, no cellular connection and I managed to restore the electricity in that building.
I actually found it accidentally while searching for a road on Google Maps.
Maybe this would be also something for you but look first, if the buildings are vandalized or not.
Broken windows etc. mean that you probably won't get any rest there : P
There is a polish site called urbexy and there you could find a nice abandoned buildings in your state. I once went to some destroyed castle and also meet some interesting people there but unfourtnetly they didn't speak english that well. Maybe you will find something interesting there. One more thing, this site requires an account to see the locations of those places.. use one of those tempmail providers if you don't wanna use your personal E-Mail address.Upvote 0

In the town where I used to live there was a very large square that was quite remote and there were not many people. Now that I moved a few months ago I have been exploring the town until I signed my place, I have never seen anyone and it is quite close to where I live. I try to get through each day.
Do you have a park with green areas nearby that is not too busy? Or just outside where you live. As they have said, in forests or nature in general.Upvote 0

Man, you're really lucky. That place looks really nice, near the ocean too. It sucks we aren't near one though.
There's a forest reserve in a uni near me and a mountain tourist spot you can get to after 1 hour commute. Social Anxiety kinda gets me though. It's hard for me to relax in unfamiliar places. I'd probably have to plan first.Upvote 0

Definitely that forest reserve sounds very good, and more if you say that it is close.
Also give the tourist area a chance even if it is further away and you have to plan it calmly.

I am not sure if it would work for you? I always really like cemeteries to go to a place. I can spend hours in a cemetary for days at a time. Some of them are beautiful historic places too. They are even better at night, except can be dangerous though to be aware.Upvote 0

I want to update my place because since I moved to another town I was looking for the ideal place until a month ago I found it
At first I was going to a castle in ruins, but it was a bit far and being a "point of interest" from time to time there were people. I began to look at the secondary roads that connected with the castle until I found a square concrete pillar sticking out of the ground, it is quite remote but not as far as the castle. I like to sit there from time to time and think about my things.

when i wake up in the morning i start drinking and smoking weed right away, after breakfast i take a nap, when i wake up i watch tv play games and after lunch im good to go for another round of drink and smoke. after dinner im feeling terrible and i crash. also 1 zoloft a day and if i have money, cocaine.Upvote 0

Either walking with no destination or grabbing a ticket on the train or bus and just zoning out wherever it takes you. It's nice to watch the scenery go by as your brain is just mush. Then get the opposite train or bus back home!Upvote 0

I've been wanting to go to a retreat, where everyone is silent the whole time- there us one relatively nearby. But i could never afford it.
When i want to disappear i go for a long drive, park somewhere i've never been + explore that nature trail.
I star gaze outside of the city at nights- look for shooting stars. Or i used to go to the airport and park where the planes were landing so they'd land almost on top of my carā¦. i'd lay down on the hood and feel like they were landing on me.
I'd go across into the next province to the mountains. Can't do that now. Damnable inter-provincial police checks. Pfft. Essential travel onlyā¦. :(Upvote 0
