I used to be on more medication. Sleep was a nice way to disappear. Didn't have to leave my house though.

I want to update my place because since I moved to another town I was looking for the ideal place until a month ago I found it
Hey man, you woke up this thread haha!

Surprisingly, I found one while I was inside the hospital (was taking care of a relative). It's a small space on the roof top.
Outside Outside2

Quite dusty but it's really quiet.. The view's really nice too. It's a good place to get a breather when you're tired of hearing beeping medical machines and feeling existential dread. Always nice to visit when it's early morning or night time too. It's a bit sunny when I took this so sorry about the glare. There's a tourist spot I know near a volcano I plan to check out. Couldn't promise a good photo though.

Man, I wish there's castle ruins here I can explore on a whim. That place looks a good camping spot. We had underground passages here but its er... probably full of ghosts of my ancestors or something... and you can't star gaze.

Be careful with castle exploring yah?

I like it, it looks like it's not crowded, as well as having good views. The contrast of the hospital with the terrace must sit very well...I hope it was nothing serious.
Have a good visit to the volcano ^^

I like going to the middle of the lake at our local park, since the path there is muddy and isnt well cared for, no one really goes out to it, they prefer having nice maintained pavilions right next to the entrances. The middle of the lake has a old wooden picnic table that always feels like its rotting away and every now and then, Ill stop to pull the grass off that tries to stick to it. It's a nice spot to just lay down and just think, no one can see you and you can't hear them.

Sometimes on a work and school day even "tourist" destinations can get deserted.
Sometimes it can even get really quiet in a museum, Although some have guards walking in every room. But the ones not heavily guarded, they become very atmospheric, especially when it gets very quiet.

There this place with gardens I use to enjoy going to, and I can be alone there a lot in certain times.
I mostly go to parks and gardens I guess, also the beach which is just a park. They have a marsh there with swans.

Going somewhere requires some life energy. I have none.
I buried myself deep into the no-chances territory that is my room. I don't go anywhere except to work and a few times a week with a friend for a cup of coffee, if I'm lucky.

I think that it is the best:pfff:
Although if you could see the eruption from a safe distance it could be an experience.

there are many beautiful places in nature.
But the fears and worries are always there.
It's beautiful - but then I can't really enjoy it.

It is. Today was the first cloudy day after a while.. I'm not much of an outdoorsy type but - a bit of rain and wind - I must admit the air was amazing.

I am in a situation where it can be hard to leave the house, but I am fortunate enough to have a VR headset. It has been my escape ever since I got it. Whever I want to be on the beach, in a cabin, or playing with a pet robot dog, I can. Sometimes I just play a space game and fly around for hours. Its not accessible to everyone, but I highly recommend it for disappearing.

Another peaceful area I visited...

It's a cliff side near the ocean. Another tourist destination but it's been pretty desolate since the pandemic. Too bad I didn't get to the top of the mountain, could've gotten a better view.

There's also a lot of huge rocks the recently fallen from a current landslide. The area's dangerous when It rains hard. Pretty scary when you're driving.

Sometimes I wonder if I can survive the drop down but i knew it'll be painful cos of the trees. But it's a good place to mull over things. Hope everyone has a happy new year.

Thank you so much for the awesome pictures! I wish I could visit as it looks very picturesque and peaceful. I wish I could visit as with the ocean view it is very stunning to say the least.

Have a great New Year's and stay healthy (Away from Covid) as you are a very good friend to me.

Just somewhere without much people honestly. Just general cause I live in asia. I know alot of you guys come from the north.

Why not go to rural japan. It's desolate . Population Dying off more and more every year

Even some mid size Japanese cities feel like ghost towns

Edit : Japanese border closed for about 2 years for tourists due to covid

I go to a hiking trail with lots of trees and few people. It both serves to free my mind and as a potential spot to ctb.

I just go home.

I live alone, no friends. My parents don't even know where I live.

No one knocks on my door, no one calls my phone. I have successfully disappeared. I am the invisible man.
I've had houses like that. It's one of the best and most exhilarating feelings in the world to know that no one knows you have any connection to that place, and there is no connection other than your physical presence. It's like having a secret fort as a kid, but it's a real life house and property.
I sometimes walk over to the beach, but mainly I go to Los Santos. Even there, I've restricted my session parameters so no other players can join.

I live in a biggish city and that plus variable energy means different options.

Inside, I escape into my solo apartment and self medicate with substances and/or sleep out the days or dissociate with TV. Other times, when people are checking in too much, I'll sometimes switch my sleep cycles to be nocturnal so I can escape inside or locally more fully and with excuses.

When I have small energy and need to be out of my home, there's a few nearby city parks with corners that nobody visits, and nearby ravines, that I could stay in all day/night if I need.

When I have bigger energy, I walk out to a large body of water, sometimes with books, and sit by the waves.

And sometimes, I walk as far as I can until I cannot physically walk (I end up returning after rest, but never really plan to in these cases...). Sometimes this is eight or ten hours away. Usually closer to five. When possible, I just follow river's or shorelines as close as I can. The further I go, the less of a chance I'll see someone I know.

Clearly I don't drive or enjoy transit though so that limits options a bit on my end

I try and immerse myself in nature. Usually the mountains or desert . Backpacking, hiking, climbing are activities that I find some relief and solace in. I find the predominant culture we live in stifling and soul sucking. Being outside is a reprieve and clears my head. Sometimes hard to overcome the Depression and anxiety to motivate in the first place though. Depends on where you live but generally you can find an outdoor sanctuary near you.
