Nitrite salt can mean a bunch of things, it is not a technical term. It could mean:
1) Normal table salt (NaCL) mixed with little amounts of sodium nitrite. This is sometimes called as curing salt.
2)SN that we know of. (Which is what you want, sodium nitrite)
3)Sodium Nitrate.

Be careful not to buy NITRATE. It should say NITRITE.
