Can SN be replaced with pickling salt?

Pickling salt (curing salt) contains 8.4% sodium nitrite. Would it be possible to achieve the same effect as SN by using approximately 500g of pickling salt as a substitute?

And uhh, how exactly are you planning to consume half a kilo of salt in a timeframe of - say 15 minutes?

To answer your question. No. You would puke it all out before you could even consume a fourth of that amount.

^ like the above poster said, you're gonna throw up well before you get to a lethal amount. not to mention that you're supposed to dissolve SN in water so you'd be drinking probably at least a liter or two of very very salty water.

i was curious about a potential way to recrystallize SN out of curing salt when i couldn't find a source for SN, but i don't think it's worth it as you can't guarantee purity, it requires quite a bit of precision and repeating, and the yield isn't the best. buying SN is also not too expensive
