For what? A political demonstration or just for shits and giggles? It could traumatize people I wouldn't recommend it.

I advise against it because you could traumatize innocent people from witnessing that. Children, elderly, disabled people etc shouldnt see that. If you have some decency left in you do it privately or in a remote place, but thats just my opinion do what you want

No. As others have pointed out, and as you are likely aware by now, CTBing in public would cause severe psychological trauma to those around you that witness the event -- and after. Don't do that.

I echo what others have said. CTB respectfully. Traumatize as few people as possible

I've definitely thought about doing that, maybe as some kind of statement. Maybe I'm an asshole or in a bad mood, but I wouldn't care at all about other people being traumatized. The world is traumatizing, life is violent, thats the truth. People can't be protected from that truth forever especially since things are getting worse. Kids already see stuff like that scrolling instagram reels and tiktok anyways right? And plenty of people have seen people or even animals die already, it's a part of life. I'd say if someone really wants to do it then go ahead, and anyone who has the misfortune of witnessing that will get a taste of what this society does to people. Why should we have to change our plans just to protect the blissful ignorance of strangers?

Just because the world is messed up it does not mean you should hurt others. Its pathetic to hurt innocent people just because you are hurt yourself. Fight your own battle sure, but have some respect.

I appreciate this perspective, it is challenging me right now because I originally thought differently but also agree with a lot of what you just said.

I still personally would aim to bring as few people into my passing as possible, but everyone has a different path to take in life (and death). You feeling this way is also valid

killing yourself in public around people (families, children, regular people) is just totally pointless. you don't gain anything from it and you only make the witnesses lives worse as a result of it. it's incredibly unempathetic and meaningless.

suicide and natural death is different. a public death implies something like jumping from a bridge, shooting yourself, or getting hit by a train/car. for an entire person's life, they may never see that or watch gore online. you aren't opening people's eyes to a dark truth, you're just inconveniencing them. there is no deeper understanding of the world when you see a corpse. it feels like people on sasu never put themselves into the shoes of a regular, non-suicidal person going about their life and then being forced to watch someone kill themselves. it's more impactful than a person can realistically imagine.

I doubt anyone would give a fuck. It's the sad reality of the world. People will see a guy blow his head off, scream a bit, then move on with their day by scrolling away.

Another point not mentioned in this thread is that while in public, there is a greater chance of intervention if things goes wrong or so, whereas in a secluded area or even in privacy, you have the peace of not being disturbed or bothered by passerbys and other people.

I've thought about self deletion by chainsaw in public
Maybe as revenge / protest at how inhuman many people now are
There's too many people who don't appreciate what they have and they do nothing but whine and bully others despite the fact that they are privileged to enjoy good mental health family friends and affluence
None of which I have

Public means people and you could hurt someone else depending on what method you use.

A recent incident happenned near me.

Someone jumped, and hit a woman walking by the building.

Both died.

Be careful, and be safe.

May you find peace.

I'm not entirely sure whether a hotel is considered a public space or a semi-public space. While I don't support engaging in CTB behavior in purely public spaces (like train tracks or streets), people will still be around whether it happens at home or in a hotel. So rather than criticizing those who engage in CTB behavior in such spaces, I think it would be better to simply improve the euthanasia system. I believe this would significantly reduce the problem. After all, I think euthanasia is clearly better than conventional methods, it can prevent most situations where others are forced to witness such acts.

In that sense, it may be worth reflecting on whether the lack of such options plays a role in creating these situations in the first place.

Never would do it, unless it was far enough away from any public trails in the wilderness that animals would find me first. I wouldn't want to traumatize anyone, especially children.

Don't.

You deserve to live in peace, even if that means you aren't living on this earth. They deserve to live in peace too. You'll be gone and won't need to deal with the repercussions, but they will. The train conductor, the bus driver, the person your body lands next to, people who don't even see your actual death but just see you jump. You will have changed their lives forever.

It's easy for us to get desensitized to the shit we see online, I used to (and occasionally still do) watch suicide content to try to trigger myself, but seeing a grainy 480p video of some Russian jumping from a high rise is nowhere near the same thing as actually seeing and hearing someone's body slam onto the concrete next to me at terminal velocity. You might land on someone. If you jump in front of a train and bounce off (likely), your body may just hit someone and injure them; truth is stranger than fiction and I've seen that shit!

Many say suicide is inherently a selfish action. I have mixed feelings about that. But CTB in front of other people? One of the most selfish things you could do. Just because you're suffering doesn't mean you should make others suffer too.
