Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I feel like it's being very recklessly shoved down people's throats to "go get a job and things will get better" despite nothing really getting better. A job, from my (albeit limited) experience only brings a metric fuckton of stress into ones life.. A life I've long stopped wanting to live anyway, which I can't really just tell anyone about.. I'm merely 20.. Why do so many people around me just expect me to have everything figured out? Is it just me or-? I'm genuinely at a loss. What's your view on this?

I would have to agree that getting a job doesn't really solve much of anything unless your biggest issues are money related. And even then it doesn't help as much as it should in this economy. In my experience the ones pushing the "get a job" narrative are all Boomers/Gen Xers that all lived in a time where getting a job would fix most of your problems. They got through the most important part of their lives without any of the social barriers we have to live with, and all they had to worry about was how much spending money they could throw around while still saving for a house. Ironically, even getting a job is a barrier in and of itself these days. I've kept my shitty grocery store job I've had since high school because I know damn well that the moment I leave it's going to be very hard finding another one.

sometimes people suggest getting a job as something to pull you out of your rut and give you responsibilities. the same can be done with hobbies but a job has higher expectations, so you can't really slack off. people tend to think backwards, ie: "get a job and then you'll start feeling better", but what's the point if someone's going to quit anyways? besides, work-life balance doesn't exits anymore. i think people wouldn't be antiwork if having a job didn't mean an everyday humiliation ritual.

I agree, some people said to me "continue your job it will be ok". I ask why. They said "because you have something to do". So i respond by saying that : Ok it's an activity, but an activity without a life around is a nonsense for me. If i live it's for having a complete Life (Friends, love, enjoy moment, living in a happy place...) not for only doing work -> house to sleep and eat to continue the work -> work.

I said to these people : i don't live to work.
