The Future of SN: Does it Worry You?

With the obsessive nature of regulating peaceful methods for departure, does the future of SN worry you at all? It is still pretty accessible all things considered, but I do worry for the future with some of the sources we use on here. I keep my SN from DMC sealed in what it was delivered, and sometimes I worry about the storage, but I also tell myself hey I can always order more down the line...but perhaps I shouldn't be so sure on that. Do you guys worry given there is a rise in popularity into using this method, and that always causes issues in trying to stop us from finding our peace. I hate it. Does anyone else worry?

Just a relatively few years back SN could be bought on Amazon in Britain, now no more. The BBC has had a documentary regarding one major supplier located in Eastern Europe in one of their "shock, horror exposure" programmes. We have seen action taken against a Canadian source.
So yes, legitimate sources are being greatly restricted for individual retail purchasers and I wouldn't doubt that this substance will finally be legally unobtainable for such.

SN is already more restricted than it was in the past. Logic says it will get worse. The "advantage" of the current situation is that SN is a relatively niche method for CTB, so it draws less attention. If for some reason the number of CTBs using SN increases significantly, then greater restrictions on this product will certainly come sooner.

Actually, this thing worries me too, since I'm not suicidal at the moment, but maybe I could go back in the future and I would be sorry to no longer have access to the SN, in theory I could buy it as a company even if it's not in the food sector and it could still raise suspicions. In the meantime, if I buy it now, I risk it expiring and I've spent the money in vain.

Yeah, it worries me. That's why I ordered from 2 different sources. Now it gives me peace of mind just to own SN.

It sucks that it isn't that easy to get (I can't be bothered finding out what DMC means exactly), but at least they'll never stop selling rope, even if it's a more agonizing way to go.

I am so tired of the constant assaults on bodily autonomy in the world. Your body their choice is the prevailing attitude everywhere these days. All because they don't want to help people who need it the most you're just supposed to pay taxes and help them get a new yacht.

Yes. I think it's going to become increasingly restricted, especially in the U.S. as a few states have already passed laws banning its sale to individuals.

Make sure it is stored properly in a vacuum away from moisture and air, and it should be okay for a few years at least

Yes. As a solid (especially when put in an airtight container in the freezer) I would bet money on that it will last 100 years and will only degrade 5% or so during that time (if at all).

The instability of SN is sometimes exaggerated here. Where it is somewhat unstable is of course in aqueous solution and exposed to air and heat. As far as I know, there is no investigation on the halflife of the solid. (Probably because it is years if not decades). I could only find a study on the degradation in solution at differing pH values.

I don't worry about it because I'm planning on using my SN soon and will no longer need to purchase more. I don't plan on opening the package until the day I ctb, so it will last a few years. There will always be a way to ctb, it won't be hard to buy a rope.

Yeah but it would still be easy to obtain it outside the us you go to mexico, thats the advantage of sn over n that is not a drug so no prescription required

Yes it does, that's the reason why I already purchased SN despite not being able to use it yet. I guess it just comes to show that the Streisand effect also applies to suicide methods. It's not sustainable to have a single notable supplier.

SN lasts for 3 years or more when sealed, after that it starts to break down.

This is why I bought mine now. I'm in the US and we're run by ego maniacal narcissists with an emperor complex. So, I ordered mine from DMC just in case. It went smoothly. Paid using Amazon gift card and package arrive 17 days to my postal mailbox.

Nope. I have a rope and I have no fear of using it when I am ready. Humans have been killing themselves successfully for millennia without SN. I am not worried about it becoming unavailable.

But seriously, it's really sad that access to SN is getting progressively more restricted. That's why I bought mine some time ago despite the fact that I don't even have a date yet.
