• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I mean, if you lost your memory wouldn't you be a different person?? memories are what makes people so maybe a suicide by losing your memories would be interesting, not like it would ever happen though

Not everyone is suicidal because of memories or because of who they are as a person.

If you're suicidal because of those reasons, get therapy, try meds, focus on the present and the future, and do everything possible to let go of the past (because it's gone anyway).

And yes, it may happen if you live long enough to get dementia, it's incredibly common.

it wont change the circumstances that made you suicidal in the first place though.

So youll end up suffering until you get back to the suicidal state you were before, before killing yourself

dont think its how it works. Youll still be within your body, just without memories

To erase yourself youd need a brain transplant

Your thinking would be completely different depending on the circumstances

I know there are people who would hate existence no matter what they were given, but I don't get them, and I also didn't mean it like getting rid of memories to get rid of being suicidal, I didn't mean it like that, I meant that "someone" else had to take care of your life, a lot of people have things they cannot change and that's why they're suicidal (though obviously suicide by memory can't exist because there isn't a guaranteed 100% loss of memory without coming back)

It's not a bad train of thought, but not likely, or else dissociation would be a good temporary fix.

By the time some people start feeling suicidal, their head is already fried from an unhealthy childhood. E.g. no amount of surgery and psychological conditioning can fix faulty development. If the hardware is fried, no hard resetting works.

It sucks big time, but here we are.
