Full suspension hanging requires a strong rope to hold a person's whole weight. Does anyone have experience or knowledge related to steel rope, in regards to its flexibility and durability? It appears to be relatively cheap and extremely durable but I doubt it would be flexible enough to tie a knot with, and I couldn't find any images or videos of anyone using it for such purposes. Also some questions...
- Do thin ropes really dig deeper into the skin and strangle the arteries better, or are thin ropes just weaker?
- While hanging by the head, could someone realistically reach up and do a "pull up" on the rope to relieve the noose's pressure, or would that be unfeasible?
- Should the rope be elastic/stretchy like a resistance band, or should it be static and unable to be stretched?
