can i do my sn test with 2x 500ml distilled water and 2.5g of sn like how it's done in the pictures in the sn bible? i'm worried if it will make the test less accurate by using less but i can't find 1L of distilled water or 1L cups

I don't see why you can't as in the instructions in the bible. Can you accurately measure 2.5g is the main thing I think.

The definition of litre is how much volume one kilogram of water occupies under normal circumstances. So you don't need to measure water volume if you can measure weight instead.

1l of water weighs 1kg.
