I found it strange, only because it was right in the middle of a conversation asking me for information about SN that can easily be found on the board. It was just very weird how, right in the middle of the conversation, that question was asked. "Where are you located?" - That was the exact wording. I know it might be innocent, but I've never had the urge to ask a person here what their location is.

I've asked people what continent they live on before telling them where to look for meto, because some suppliers only ship to certain places. But if that (or partner-seeking) wasn't the context: Weird.

I've asked a location if conversation has seemed it was OK, as in one lass here who I don't believe is still with us turned out she was local to me. We never spoke off the site but it gave us the chance to speak of things a bit easier.

Well, without the context of that "hanging" quote it's difficult to tell. Yes, it's an unnecessary draw of attention, but tbh I'd normally take that as a joke and it's your business anyway. Ok, so in this case it happens be true, but twenty years ago no police would've ever come to one's door because of that. It's like RoseyBird said, as if anyone would confirm these suspicions. It's like those silly US immigration visas, "do you intend to commit a terrorist act"? Get real.

Social media or not, I think the authorities could very easily identify most people on here, especially those of us on mobile phones with all those spy apps/os. No, I don't think they *really* care. There are so many people on here who've been ground to dust by this humane society, but when it comes to suicide everyone all of a sudden becomes an altruist. Sorry, for being cynical, but to me all there is to this is some dummy on social media who saw the reply and couldn't live with themselves (!) if it turned out to be true and thus reported it, and then police of course showed up because if it were to happen and they'd not investigated the report they'd be held liable.
