They use N and not SN. And I suspect it's at least a thousand or 2,000 CHF just for the drugs. (It became so expensive in the United States they don't use it anymore for MAID). Another 2,000 for cremation. I believe on the Dignitas site it gets into more where the all the fees go towards.
The real market retail price for N is 20 - 40 dollars per bottle. For a lethal outcome you need 2, maximum 3 bottles so do the math yourself. The price of 2000 dollars for a lethal dose is absolutely exaggerated and unrealistic.

5 figures is a lot of money, but that's not the real problem. if you live in a first world country is a matter of working a few months till you have the money

the problem is always the same

- are you younger ? probably rejected, we dont want to deal with youngers since its controversial to "kill" young people

- are you just mentally illness ? -> probably rejected again, you are not suffering a "real pain" and doesnt fit their standars

having to pass a burocratic procedure is just a mess. I mean, I can understand you have to pass at least one psychological test to ensure you are not being forced to something you dont wan agains your will. But aside of that ?

That's what I read the price was in Oregon and why they stopped using it (and then the capital punishment industry sealed it because manufacturers didn't want them to get their hands on it) but I don't know any idea outside of Oregon. I was just guessing on that.

How did you get cfs/me?
I suspect I initially got a mild form post-viral having had chicken pox back maybe 15yrs ago. Just kept sleeping loads and then just always had to have good amounts of sleep or I'd be f'd. Then a couple of years ago went thro severe insomnia and bang, suddenly couldnt get off the sofa and all these neurological symptoms started, brain burning and limb numbness. Utterly gross disease. Been getting steadily worse since then, heaps of deconditioning to add to the nightmare too.

I've heard multiple accounts of them denying people, particularly young folks (like under 40). Pegasos and Dignitas seem very accepting but ultimately are still pretty picky.

erm I emailed them beginning of December and only got an automated response. Then I found this place and didn't chase it up.

Any updates on this? I have just read about Pegasos today and felt optimistic because their website sounds as if anyone can get accepted as long as you're an adult and of 'sound mind'. But after reading some of these comments, I wonder whether someone got the confirmation about the refund (maybe also in an email correspondence with Pegasos) or if someone (along with OP) actually applied?

It makes sense that they would be nervous about providing their services for people who are much younger. I don't feel that's right, because a younger person has a lot more potential time to suffer than an older person, but I see their side of it as well. They probably see somebody who's younger and suffering from just depression as being a strong candidate for recovery.

I've sent in my initial letter explaining my background and situation, and I'm waiting to hear back as to whether or not I likely qualify. We'll see what happens.
Yeah, I think it's stupid and not fair that they're like that with younger people. I'm in my 30's. I don't want to go 20-40 more years of this 🙄

Also sadly for me, I'm too poor to even try to apply. So, I'm just gonna do it in an affordable way myself
I wrote them yesterday and also stated my diagnosis of chronic pain and how it's getting worse. I described that I have medical records. I got an answer today that they won't accept my application based on these facts and age (33).
I'm so sorry! And I knew it! I'm 32!
