Today's my birthday. Unless something radical happens in the next few months, it will be my last birthday.
The last time I celebrated my birthday was 8 years ago, and before that at least 10 years had passed since I'd done anything to mark the date.
I have two remaining friends in my life. One lives a fair distance away, but the other resides in the same town I do.
They want to do something to celebrate the occasion, and while I don't really feel anything special about the date, I do love this person a great deal, so it's off for pie and ice cream at the local bake shop.
It's a pretty day, and I may even choose to take some photos. I doubt I'll extract the images from the SD card; my heart's not much in photography anymore. But if I do catch a 'good' image of my friend, that would be the finest gift I could receive on this date.
