What are some measures that you'll take to make sure you are more likely to succeed in your suicide attempt?

My survival instinct tends to amp up when I'm faced with a more surefire method (jumping off a high building onto concrete or something like a gun shot) so for myself, I will have to choose something during an impulsive moment that has a slight possibility of survival (like ingesting SN-if help is called)

To help avoid SI as much as possible I will be overdosing somewhere rural and away from the nearest hospital. Two people in my city have recently died during an ambulance ride since they didn't make it to the hospital in time. If I end up calling for help I will have a better chance of dying if I make sure I'm far enough from any hospital.

SN in a hotel is a good idea but if you think you'll call for help then maybe take a strong benzo first or cut the phone line / disable your cell

I'd probably try repeatedly working through the steps leading up to ctb, without actually doing it, just to accustom and familiarise myself with the sequence of actions. Hopefully then when I "do the deed" for real it'll not be so strange and alarming.
Eg, if I was able to use a firearm, I'd get it out, simulate loading the chamber or magazine, cock it if required then discharge the unloaded weapon in position to ctb.
Similarly, if using SN, I'd prepare everything including two glasses of slightly salted water and go through the motions as if it was for real. Just to remove the sense of unfamiliarity, unease and drama when I did it for real.
