impulsively bought a bus ticket across the country to be far away from my family to do the deed. Heading to the PNW. Finishing laundry and have my rope stuffed in bottom of the bag. I'm just not sure exactly where to do it. The bus will drop me off in the middle of a large city and I planned to head out to one of the trails and string myself up in the woods but they're all closed by 10pm. I know this is a stretch not knowing the city or area but would anyone happen to know how sketchy it would be heading into a forest trail after hours? I wonder if I'll get spotted by a park ranger or something.

It's kind of making me nervous. I've got like $1k left to my name so I won't be able to survive super long once I'm out there. I guess I could try and get a hotel room and hang myself in there on something instead. My bus leaves in a few hours. The plan is to force myself into a corner, being that I'll be 1000's of miles from any family or any kind of help, alone, broke in a completely foreign area so I'll have no choice but to follow through

A rough way to force yourself, but I guess it would work.
I can't say how sketchy a forest trail would be after hours, I can't imagine it would be too bad if you stayed off the beaten path.

Whatever happens, whether you take that bus or stay home I hope it ends well for you, I really do.

Thanks buddy I appreciate it. Finally gonna do this! I have to! I think you're right as long as I don't appear too suspicious and duck out off of the trail I think I'll be okay. There's a decent homeless population there, hopefully I'll just be seen as a nobody that they noone will pay attention to. Take care

You also need an accessory to get high enough to tie the rope to the tree, moreover it's not that straight forward to find the right tree fyi
Good luck

You're right. I'm athletic and in pretty good shape so I think I'll be able to scale it when I find the right one. Thanks for the tip

scout out the forest trails in the area before dark to see if they have a gate. i know a trail in my city that's just open woods. i recommend scoping out the area in general to look at multiple trails and also know how to find your way back home in the dark. the biggest thing you have to worry about is getting lost with no signal/gps.
