I'm not in Louisiana but I know it's home to several of the longest bridges in the country. Since my preferred method is to jump, I'll be making my way there someday πŸ˜‰

Hey! Interesting fact if I'm not mistaken the causeway over lake Pontchartrain used to be one of the longest bridges in the world or maybe at some point it was the longest bridge in the world. Good luck to you man be careful with jumping.
Edit: sorry I was wrong about that I just looked at an updated article and it looks like it ranks number 9 or something.

It's the longest in the world over water. The Manchac bridge is the longest in the country. Atchafalaya is the second longest I believe. And the bridge over the Bonnet Carre spillway is in the top 5. Four in the top 5. Louisiana knows bridges.

From 1969 until 2011, it was listed by Guinness World Records as the longest bridge over water in the world.

I think Pontchartrain bridge is the longest. Could be mistaken though.
It's crazy because I've been crossing these Bridges my entire life and never knew that they were some of the longest in the country until you just mentioned it honestly.

You're right. I forget there are two bridges over Lake Pontchartrain. I always think of The Causeway but you originally mentioned the twin spans and it didn't register that those are the ones over the Eastern part of the lake. Much shorter than the Causeway in the West.

I'd love to spend a few days there eating crawfish, crab legs and beignets, then checking out.

I actually meant to say
the causeway. Oops. I'm tired. Eheh.

I'm not sure where you're from but you should definitely take a trip down here one day man and come enjoy the culture and the food it's definitely worth it. It sounds like you've done a bit of research on Louisiana.

It's one of the most interesting states in the union IMO. And home to the most interesting city. It's a very unique place. They call their counties parishes and have thousands of above ground tombs. I love it. They exist on their own terms 😁
