Lottery system to support Swiss vad

I know it sounds crazy, but let's discuss this. How could it be possible to set up a crowdfunding system to pay for vad in Switzerland for the ones who can't afford it.
I'm thinking about a kind of lottery system where everyone must pay to get onto the list and once the money get collected someone's name could be picked randomly.
Would you pay 1 CHF to have a 1:10000 chance to win a one-way trip to Switzerland?

They denied me. Said cos I had diagnosed depression and was too young at 41 the combination meant they wouldn't do it. So no, I won't be playing the lottery. Sigh. I guess I'd consider it otherwise though

Interesting. However, the main obstacle between most suicidal people and the Swiss or Belgian vad is not financial. Very few people meet the conditions to be eligible. So, if one is lucky enough to win at the 'lottery', she or he is unlikely to be admitted. In case of refusal, most of the money collected would be lost...

Where did you try? Dignitas? From what I've read seems pegasos will take people with mental health issues. Read about 2 sisters who had depression and a few other issues like chronic insomnia and back pain and got accepted by pegasos and they were in 40s and 50s

Current VAD is only for very old or very sick people.

You need to wait for the process to get demedicalized (Sarco), so the only requirement will be being an adult of sound mind (with mental capacity to understand the consequences of their actions).

Damn I'm sorry Jodes that you had no success with them. I've prob got no hope as I'm slightly younger than you and only suffer with depression and no other illness.

Sarco is a 6 years old concept, I didn't see much progress about it ever since.

There was no article that said they had depression. By any account, they had no significant physical or mental issues. One of the two sisters was 54 and the other was 49.

Sadly, that is true and even the PPeH mentions that the Swiss organization (Dignitas) keeps the deposit even if they deny the person the right to die.

Sadly, that is the case with most right to die organizations, only limited to severely ill patients (moreso physical illness than psychological illness and suffering), or the elderly, like 70+ or so. Of course, each case is different, but it seems like the vast majority of approvals are in those two categories, or a combination of those two.

I am hoping that Sarco becomes demedicalized, but I'm not certain that it will happen in our lifetimes (I'm in my 30's and according to the life expectancy in the US, I will likely have at least half a century of sentience to endure, barring any accidents, disasters, or health problems.
