i've been avoiding going to a bar for the first time because i'm socially anxious lol

i turned 21 recently and i wanted to make it this big thing where i dress fancy and go to a bar down in the city. i have not done that and just stayed in. i've been wondering if i should buy alcohol at a liquor store near me or if i should go to a bar even though i get nervous talking to bartenders or having to be around a lot of people. i drank one drink before at a restaurant but i got sleepy, so i'm kind of worried about falling asleep if i drink in public.

i don't know that much about alcohol at all. i don't know if it's worth the effort. i've just always been curious about it since i figured that i would die before i can legally drink it. since i have asthma, i'm not interested in smoking at all even though i'm old enough to do that too. i think that if i'm hesitating so much, i might not actually want to go to a bar and would rather stay in doing the things i always do instead. i don't have anyone that wants to hang out with me and go with me.

if youre not confident going to a bar alone, there's nothing wrong with just going to a store and getting some from there.

if you dont like the taste of alcohol here are some drinks i recommend that are low in alcohol content and easy to drink.
smirnoff ice green apple tastes like jollyranchers
mike's hard lemonade strawberry is like a fruit roll-up
truly hard seltzer cherry is like sparkling water with a slight taste of alcohol

If I was that age again, I would scope out a neighbor bar, not some trendy place and go in, see the vibe and if not too busy hit a seat at the bar, order a beer or drink and strike up a conversation with the bar tender.

When I worked, semi-retired now, I traveled all the time and hardly ever drank much alcohol but still would hit up a local haunt and get the vibe of the city. It was always so darn fun getting to know the locals and everything about them and their way of life, always very interesting.

i definitely have an addictive personality so i'm worried about wanting to drink a lot once i actually have alcohol lol. i can totally imagine me standing around all nervous in a bar without even ordering anything and leaving.

i thought about that today but i was too lazy and didn't really want to get up and go somewhere. i might do the same thing tomorrow. i know i'd like to visit a liquor store just for the experience. i've been feeling tired this week so i haven't really wanted to go to the store.
