Firstly hello, thank you for having me here, this is my first post. Please forgive me if I'm wrong, I've been diagnosed with psychosis and have some pretty out there views about conspiracies.

I think dark net markets are honeypots to catch and monitor dealers.

Similarly, I believe this site could be run for broadly two reasons: 1. To propagate methods that don't actually work since I've been lurking up til now and tried partial and gas and both were impossible, and they're posted here to put people off doing things like full suspension and making them try non options giving them time to reflect and choose not to CTB and 2. To catch and monitor people who might be complicit in things like having a suicide partner.

If I'm right then there's no point asking the question anyway since you could all be AI bots, but I'll ask anyway: what do you think about these ideas?

I can't think of a good reason that this site would exist to this day otherwise?

You really put too much trust in those authorities. The only people who come here in bad faith like you're describing are egomaniacs who want to stroke their ego and they are quickly banned when discovered.

AI chat bots aren't allowed to talk like this and especially about these problems and I doubt the CIA would request a special strain of an AI chat bot that can talk about suicide.

Yes, dark net markets can be run as such temporarily~ However, it's usually revealed that they have been running like honeypots like that within a month~ In their case, law enforcement doesn't really like when people know that they've been doing evil stuff and want to cover it up or avoid it~
while law enforcement definitely knows about this website, and there might be some law enforcement people who are lurkers or members, I highly doubt there are any amongst the mod team~
Partial is extremely unlikely, at least, amongst the site membership~ I saw another post claiming that there were 200 successfully recorded attempts (among the general population)~ Also, I'm pretty sure that gas has had many successful attempts, but idk about numbers~ A lot of people advocate for those being used as methods because they are more peaceful and accessible (to an extent)~
In regards to partners, I'm pretty sure that the mod team knows how dangerous that is, which is why they warn people about it a fair bit~ but also, I'm fairly certain that law enforcement would just arrest and/or ward people involved in that, which I have yet to hear of yet~ Additionally, talk of SN festered here for quite a while before they started restricting it~
The site still exists because it does not do anything that is illegal, merely just hosting people who have been abandoned by the world who sometimes may discuss methods~ In fact, the site admins warn against using methods that will only hurt you and are unlikely to kill you~
Lastly, if this site was ran by law enforcement, it would not be receiving as much backlash as it has been from governments like the UK, Italy, and Australia (keep in mind that 2 of these countries are in 5 Eyes and would likely know about US government interference, and Italy is in 14 Eyes~)~

With how active police in my country have become online... I've asked questions that would have had me and multiple others visited a long time ago on here if there were any truly "keeping an eye out for you" cops around here.

Thank you to you all for your kindness and patience with me! Again I do apologise- ever since my "psychosis" started I have become very testing to everyone around me, conspiracy this, conspiracy that, panic here, panic there.

If any of you are bots, you're very convincing. I'm sorry I wrote this as my first post, it was a badly timed wave of paranoia.

The reason I couldn't shake the idea was purely down to difficulty with partial suspension and argon .. with that as my evidence alone, I figured whatever agency set this place up ( if they did ) put out false methods as a harm reduction strategy.

But having had some time to think since I started this post, I reflect on the very real stories I've seen among other factors and am comforted by them, helping to reassure me that this site is legit.

But now my question is why did I have uncontrollable panic when doing both partial suspension and argon gas, when my conscious mind was 100% set on dying? In both cases the urge to get out of it (rip the hood off / get my head out of the belt) were entirely uncontrollable, and I tried a total of about 15 times between them, and the horror it induced caused me to wet myself. So what I'm saying is this was not just run of the mill extreme anxiety, it was my reptile brain saying "f this sh1t i am getting the hell out of this". Am I the only one to have experienced this??

darknet markets are probably not all honeypots

part of the reason you know is there have been some major arrests with people who have served significant amounts of time (10+ years, etc). The people who were arrested were in jail, met others in jail, and were around jail guards. It would be hard to fabricate because we'd probably hear some inmates who get out saying "Yep, that person was never in there."

As for this site being a honeypot, it's possible, but it seems unlikely. A lot of time people exchange very specific information about what works and doesn't work for effectively committing suicide. Officially, the government doesn't want people to commit suicide.

I'm not sure what the motive would be. I suppose it's possible the government could log all IP addresses of people who come to the site and could mark them as mentally unstable in some government database and that could be of value to the government. They could only do this if the government can somehow determine origin IP even when someone uses a VPN and uses Tor, which I think the government can probably do. (I believe this because I once used a VPN to express being suicidal to a crisis chat line, and they were able to determine who I am despite using a no log VPN and a browser that blocks many fingerprinting techniques and send a crisis team, which I dealt with by remaining quiet and reading a long book. It's almost certain that if they can do this, they don't share it and allow things like darknet markets to keep the illusion of privacy continuing. But it's probably just an illusion.) I suppose it would be very valuable for the government to know every single person who has ever visited this site. It would be info and info is power.

It's probably not a honeypot, there's no evidence it's a honeypot, but it can't be full determined to not be a honeypot.

I mean im sure it is, anything of this nature that's on the open internet anyways. It is the only place on the internet that harbors truly uncensored suicide discussion though. I mean maybe there are other places too but this is probably the most accessible/popular one. If it isn't ran by the feds then there isnt any reason to believe they arent monitoring each post

I don't think this site is run by feds but it's definitely infested with them. I'm pretty sure people have been sectioned because of people on this site. So just be very careful with what information about yourself you decide to share.
