Here is where I think there is some value to actually having obituaries. For all we know, SN is causing a lot of people to wind up seriously injured. It doesn't seem to be the case... But you honestly can't tell. Most of us don't actually know that @Minudah passed away after taking SN but some people seem to know somehow.

This is the problem. You either show it publically which therefore proves it was successful but it isn't appropriate. Of course you can research it for yourself but not everyone does and then false statements about sodium nitrite are made and increased confusion. It's unfortunate really because mixed messages are being received about this method.

Yeah I think she got accused of being a scammer too. The accusations were really getting out of hand.

Don't be afraid to seek support here but if you do post about immediate plans to CBT and/or live blog it here you may be met with suspicion and accusations.

Why do you think some of us are here?

From what I read this is not a pro-life support group, you might be in the wrong place.

Or is it me?
I'm sad but also relieved that some people may have found peace.

Well you could try to find one person to private message with. Or you could post here but just know that if you say anything unusual there may be some people that won't be nice about it. Sorry that's not very helpful. Just my take on it.

it is helpful info. I find ii hard to get support from one on one setting because as you get to know ppl you don't want to see them ctb.
I can't understand why taunting would be allowed or even what someone gets out if. it's a suicide forum and even if you think you're the expert bs detector you need to mind your fcking business. Alerting the mods should suffice if you feel you must intervene.
But to openly mock a person who despite what your superior wisdom tells you, might actually be attempting ctb is disgusting. if that young lady really passed in the midst of mockery you should be ashamed.
I want the support of the board but based on this alone I will not be seeking it.

I think you misunderstood my point. I know that this isn't a pro-life support group and I understand that this is a website for those looking to end their own lives. I originally found it when trying to kill myself. I understand why some people want to kill themselves and I believe that this is a decision that everyone has a right to make. My point was just that even if it's better for these people to find peace, it's still a bit sad.

sort of difficult when I relate more with people I meet on here than with who I see irl ... meh such is life... I'm at least lucky to interact with you all while I can...
That word you used, meh, just made me think of my brother that ctb by intentional OD almost 6 months ago......I miss him more than words can express. This was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back for me and made me get serious about ctb myself. I hope to see him very soon.

I know several users who have left the forum because of the emotional conflicts/trauma they have experienced from having become close to people here eventually ctb. This is part of why I'm now limiting my time here on the forum after being very heavily involved a few months ago. Losing BurningLights definitely rattled me me. I've lost 14 (?) IRL friends and family to suicide, and BurningLights still hit me harder than any of them. Eden2k was difficult for me, too. A couple people here I still PM with are on their way to the bus stop, which is saddening --and I know if my recovery fails and I ctb, it'll be difficult for them in turn.

For all that we are pro-choice, for all that we invite Her into our thoughts and conversations and deliberately include Her in our future plans, Death is not an easy companion.

Here's the link to the confirmation of @Minudah it's a pdf posted by the synagogue she attended. If people want to know what happened to others it's not too difficult to put the pieces together from their posts.

The member who instigated that wild proposition is no longer a member of the site and asked to have all trace of their activity here removed.

I don't know where this doubt regarding the effectiveness of SN sprung from, SN is essentially toxic to humans at the correct dose. From the original list I posted earlier, four were with SN.

It took me a while to find @Eden2k. She had planned on taking SN. Not trying to drag up the past but I know other people might want to view it. -> https://funeral-notices.co.uk/North...anchester/death-notices/notice/MORGAN/4662768

While I don't know if she was ever a member of SS, I did also see last night that there was a young woman named Ximena who CTB'd using SN. She was mentioned in an Exit international post. I'm starting to doubt less and less that SN is effective. She's also mentioned in a few other dutch news sources.

I have about 20g mixed up in a little bottle of water. I feel a little bit... off... like a stunned ghost. I'm tired of living and I don't see the point of going on but I haven't done it yet. I keep waiting for some kind of miracle to change my mind.

I'm no chemist but what little chemistry knowledge I've acquired, I don't have any reason to believe Sodium Nitrite is going to magically change into another substance just because it's suspended in water. Salts just dissolve into water but typically stay the same chemical.

When opened, Sodium Nitrite becomes Sodium Nitrate in open air, because it... oxidises maybe? Isn't there still some oxygen in water, so it would change into another substance? I don't know though.

I'm actually not sure now. I'd love if somebody would answer this with a source. Obviously, it has to still be Sodium Nitrite for a little while if people are drinking it. But I am seeing some places online (like Quora) where people are saying it changes to Sodium Nitrate. I don't think that's true.

How long until it oxidizes and becomes nitrate?

Yeah but idk..keeping it in water for too long? Maybe its just my paranoia lol
