I mean, how do suicide-bombers do it? Like conditioning oneself with certain information / rituals to help overcome SI.
Unfortunately in this case I am a central European atheist and not a middle eastern terrorist, relatively immune to bullshit and a staunch believer of reason and logic.
Fortunately however, I know that my situation is hopeless.
Got any self-brainwashing advice? lol

@StateOfMind maybe it is brainwashing, but suicide bombers believe three things: 1 - they are making the world a better place for Muslims. 2 - They are doing Allah's bidding. 3 - They will be rewarded in the afterlife. Those are very strong, definitely strong enough to overcome the si associated with an instant an painless death.

Think about it, if explosives were an option to ctb, most of us would opt for that method. Pretty much 100% guaranteed and painless. Can't ask for a better way.

You've already brainwashed yourself into believing you're perfectly logical, rational, and immune to propaganda.

if you were really that logical you would be able to talk yourself out of depression and you wouldn't want to kys anymore. And yet, here we are on this website speaking to one another, because despite what we tell ourselves, humans are not rational animals.

You may or may not find this helpful; i simply wanted to offer an alternate perspective. Sometimes one must try different ways of thinking to reach a breakthrough

In your case StateOfMind, brainwashing isn't possible because of how you weigh up the principles of suicide. Think it depends on someone's qualities such as their social status, temperament etc.

I mean if I had the means of using explosive devices to ctb, I probably would get over my SI pretty quickly too.

It helps me to remind myself that we all will die, no matter what, whether it's next week or 50 years from now. SI or not, every single one us will greet death. We can hasten the process ourselves or let life run its course naturally, but we're all going to die. Suicide just speeds up something that will happen either way

From your list the only things I have going for me are the "making the world a better place" (my suicide note which will be sent after my death to hundreds of people including members of SS).

And and an instant death method - headbutting a fast train.

That's a good way of looking at it.

It's possible but goes against the entire point of being pro-choice.

If it's possible what method (psychological) would you recommend?
Well, you're already halfway there. You've effectively surrounded yourself with people who willingly help push you over the edge AND have convinced yourself that it's the only option you have. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to convince you that you should or shouldn't CTB. Just pointing out what I see.

I think the examples you've provided are really accurate.
It all depends on the way we were raised.

However, I think it is not possible to brainwash yourself into suicide. You can be more commited to do it if you think of it 24/7 and pick/plan your method carefully but still, SI will be there.

Maybe you could be "brainwashed" if something really terrible happened? For instance, a serial killer kills all your family and he's never found nor arrested. Maybe you'd just get a gun and join your family without thinking about it at all.

It's possible, absolutely. If you want to learn more, pm me. But I must warn you, it's anxiety triggering.

I mean if you can find a good hypnotist. Although I doubt that they'll do anything of the sort because most people are pro life

There's this drug that supposedly can make you do anything someone tells you.

Autosuggestion is very real. I've used it during training and missions, many times. Two books that explain it in depth are "the secret" and "think and grow rich." Autosuggestion in addition to constantly surrounding yourself with information and anything else that involves your ultimate task or goal.

I'm fascinated with the idea of suicide hypnosis myself. It would really help me out a lot. If anybody knows more about it, feel free to pm me!

I don't know if you can brainwash yourself, without external input. Then again, I don't see why not. I would you'd need to be a certain type of personality, though.

You're right. I'd likly need someone skilled in hypnosis willing to help me. I'm not sure where I'd even begin to find someone.

Tbh I got hypnotized once and I was a non believer before that. It was just sleeping and moving but I felt my body was doing it on their own.

The thing about hypnosis apparently is that you cant force people do what they dont want but I wonder if there is a way to condition yourself to overcome SI. I dont even know if self hypnosis is possible
