I think CTBing alone is selfish. Most people here are stuck in unhappy life yet afraid to die, especially because peaceful death is so difficult to get. For some more than others depending on afflictions, locations or means.

So if you have found a fair method, live in close proximity to an SS member(s), yet chose to CTB alone...

Well, just like some selfish people who are well and capable but won't lift a finger to ease your suffering. How different are you really if you won't help someone so miserable die?

That would be so cool. People would probably think it was a cult or something. But how awesome would it be to have a great time with like minded people then fall into freedom together. It's the same to me as people meeting up to get wasted and party. They never know if they will end up dead at the end and still enjoy every moment. That's our goal so it would be even better.

I think ending my life is such an intimate thing that i must be alone when it happens.
Furthermore, i would feel like i'm "killing" the partener...pacts are definitely not for me.

Unfortunately it's not safe to do that with someone you met online. Plenty of scammers or worse would take advantage or suicidal people, dedicated pro lifers could pose as suicidal people and call the cops on you.

Then what happens if one of the people backs out at the last minute?

ppl are always different than their internet-behaviour, sadly. I wouldn't give too much about partner search. not everyone will find a good partner, but some might do. it's up to you to fulfill your ctb wish, it's not up to others to 'help' you. but if you're broke and the other person doesn't have to spend all his money and his possession to his loved ones for any reason, there should be no reason not to help out.

so if anyone wants to buy me some N, feel free to do so lol. just jokin

Yes about the risk... but there are ways to establish trust, no? Contributions here; proof of their dire status, etc. Not easy I get.

That's true and I do agree that it's a little too personal to have a partner. I guess the idea of having someone around who supports your choice instead of bashing brings some comfort. But if someone wanted to be a loser and just going along to see what happens then they would be probably end up in jail. That's basically assisted suicide.

I didn't have financial help in mind. CTB partner is principally about fear of death's pain, discomfort, last minute anxiety. If you can give someone company... they've probably been cowering frozen for years. I have.

Yes Skype records. But the main point is remote connection would not give me the comfort of physical company. That's an observer not a partner.

Well I'm pretty sure I'm out on the list of candidates because I live in the USA. You can't even leave your own country without having to hand over funds.

While this would be great if it went to plan, but as others have pointed out there could be issues, if someone backs out they could freak out and call an ambulance which would screw it all up or they could be done with assisting suicide.
Going out together would be good though, would make it a bit more comforting.

Provocative! I respect your perspective--truly. And I think you have a good point that there's some selfishness in keeping a well-researched method and its implementation to ourselves. I tried about three years ago to go with someone else who had a lot less cash for resources than I did. I did all the work, even renting a large cabin on 35 acres of pristine private forested property on the US/Canada border where we'd both have the peace we said we desperately needed to make our final legal plans. That person not only robbed me of over $10K in cash but eventually made the time hellish by involving his on-again-off-again girlfriend, even bringing her up to what was for me a refuge before the end.

Long story short, it was a months-long nightmare that lead to years of even worse suffering, including the defrauding of my entire life's savings I'd hope to leave for a few organizations. Now, I'm gravely impoverished and nearly homeless. As much as I would LIKE to help others, I just can't afford to be victimized anymore. One of the reasons I'm such a failure in life is I'm a horrible judge of character. I trust and want to help everyone and am poor at discerning the wolves in sheep's clothing. I've tried to make suicide packs multiple times in the past, actually. It always-always-always fails. I've even had people reject my joining their group or going with them because, and it's humiliating to admit this but it might help others, I'm the wrong type of person (wrong gender, wrong age, wrong appearance...). I've been stunned to learn that even at the end, moments before dying, you can still be rejected as "wrong."

When it finally happens for me, it will be quick, quiet, and 100% alone. I hope you and others can find whatever peace you might need/want with other CTBers.

This is not necessarily about me. I'd prefer a local partner over a foreigner. For one, yes I need vetting and cash for visa but this is not hard. But that requires a foreign host. The upside is not being found or returned home - not so bad for suicide.

In the case of a foreigner flying in, they need to be comfy. I can arrange this. There's plenty of tourists so easy to blend. Suicide is quite illegal, hard to ferry in most N or S type paraphernalia as luggage.

A local partner is hard to find. I once broached it at a group therapy and promptly got rebuffed by someone I had come to trust. Zealous pro-lifers make it impossible to use the social media.

Wow FTL, I feel for you, especially being robbed/conned and rejected for pacts. I too have been abused by unscrupulous folks for many years, my mental status had alot to do with it. It's been a painful journey.
