• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

sorry for using a translator, I'm not good at English.

In my country (East Asia), I found a law stating that when purchasing SN with a purity of 25% or higher from overseas,

'the following must be reported to the Director of the Regional EPA Administrator of the local environmental authorities before import is possible.'

Do you have similar laws in your countries?

I thought personal possession of SN was not a problem, but it turns out my country has this issue

I was planning to order from DMC, but now I'm hesitating because of this law..

If DMC can still ship SN without any problems, even with this law, then I'm planning to order.

This money is a huge expense for me because it's basically my monthly living costs.

Thanks for your reply. By the way, have you successfully received your delivery from DMC?

Does this law apply to all nitrite salts? if it's only SN then you may be able to get your hands on KN ( Potassium Nitrite ).

KN suppliers generally cost 10x less than what DMC charges for and is more available, perhaps if the law doesn't apply to KN that may be a viable option.

What are the penalties if you get caught? DMC being able to ship it to you doesn't mean you aren't going to get in trouble for it. You may want to reassess this, as it may mean having to pay fines (that would be far greater than what DMC is charging) and possibly worse.

the description states exactly: "Nitrous acid salts [Nitrous acid, salts] and mixtures containing 25% or more are reportable." It seems this applies to all nitrous acid salts.

thanks for the advice

I've looked for examples of this, but all I've found is that they get seized and have to pay some extra fines. It's said legally they didn't face any big penalties. But I don't know the exact amount of those fines. And of course, this is just based on what happens in my country.

Most countries have regulations in place regarding SN since it's a toxic substance.
It doesn't stop anyone. Depending on where you order it, it might not even say it's sodium nitrite and it's purity.

In my country Russia it is apparently completely legal and easy to buy anywhere. When I first learnt about this approximately a month ago from a fellow member, I was really surprised bc I thought that it would be a pain in the ass to acquire and wasn't even considering it. Now it's of my primary consideration though, seeing as it is going to be super easy to get

Thank you. That sounds about right. As you said, when it comes in that way, they probably won't do an accurate purity test. However, most overseas websites list the purity at the time of purchase and because they are marked as hazardous materials, it seems like people get them confiscated and fined. I saw 500g samples being sold in Indonesia and Malaysia without purity listed, but for now, ordering through DMC will be my top priority.

Thanks for the reply. It seems like regulations aren't very strict in Russia then.
