I strongly think those who sail their boat off the edge, are NOT selfish. I think it's ignorant and wildly privileged to thing otherwise. I had a discussion with someone today and it really set in stone that feeling. The comments about why they wouldn't consider those they leave behind just reminded me how some people don't have the daily struggle to stay alive. What does that feel like? And when I asked them why it's ok for medical assisted death for those people with illnesses is ok, but not this. Why don't people take mental struggles seriously? Why can't we be "selfish"? Why do people act like those who take the final trip are dumb. Like we never thought about other people? ALL WE DO IS THAT.
I'm tired of having to "be" for other people who can't see past their own nose. God, what a bliss they must feel. They really have never thought about the idea of just fighting every day to exist in your own brain. What does that feel like?
