Yes hopefully death is eternal and there is no rebirth, although in India where i live people commonly believe in rebirth ... So I fear it may be true... But the real challenge is to overcome SI and ctb.
As much as I have hoped for an afterlife or a rebirth, I'm becoming increasingly comfortable with the idea of non-existence and nothingness, myself. I'm sick of life so, the thought of there being nothing afterwards at the very least does sound relieving and peaceful. It's something that used to bother me but now I'm actually content with it, which is huge for me.
Though i respect peoples beliefs and views, I myself think the idea of an afterlife has been made to bring comfort to those who've lost someone close.
Death is hard to move on from so the idea of them going to a nicer place seems comforting.
I think death is the end, i dont think there is anything after it.
