Venting I am too expensive to live

You are not a bad person. Alot of people are bad people they know what resources they are using (freely) and they laugh about it, taking society for mugs to claim benefits whilst they continue making money criminally via drug dealing ect.
You're in a terrible situation and I hope things work out for you. You don't sound like you deserve the rief you are giving yourself at all.

I find this idea of contributing to society interesting. What does this mean exactly?

We all need to contribute in order to be a healthy well-being, it's part of being human.
