100% agree.
To the people wanting to shut this site down, let me tell you this:

This site probably saves more lives than causes death.
People who are bound and determined to end their life, will find the resources to do the job.
There is plenty of the same information elsewhere on the internet.
This site is a safe haven for the suicidal.
They can vent their frustrations here, to an audience who fully understands what they are saying.
That is soooo much better than venting to a shrink, who generally dismisses what you say.
I, for one, can say that being here has lessened my depression.
As stated above, the same is true for others, as well.

I very much agree with this. Most of the therapists I talked to only seemed to pretend to care because I was paying them $100-150/hour for each session. I could never be fully honest with any of them because I knew I'd be dumped in the psych ward as the most convenient "solution" to legally cover their asses.
After finding this site, I made friends with some of the most genuine people I've ever met in my life. I felt much better talking to my SS friends than I ever felt talking to a therapist or taking my pills. If anything, finding these genuine human connections who really understand me has made everyday life a little more bearable.

Having a real genuine connection can boost anyone's spirits.

Most people here are the kindest you will meet. Like everywhere else, there might be a few unsavoury people as well. If you see such a case you can block/report. Good luck and I hope you find peace, living or if it comes to that, dying.

If there is a place where your thoughts and your concerns will not be used as a weapon against you; if you are looking for a secure place to voice your thoughts on end of life concerns & affairs then you are home friend.

Many folks here come from all walks of life and educational background. In my first few postings and subsequent replies I knew I was home and secure in asking questions and posting responses.
