Discussion How uncomfortable is partial hanging?

It is not my preferred method at all but it seems to be my only choice, so it is what I am going to try (this will be my second attempt at CTB)

I have neck issues already so I am concerned about messing it up even more so that's I would be if I did not have such intense neck discomfort.
hanging right you will pass out in a matter of seconds but how uncomfortable/painful is it in those seconds? Is it hard to go against your SI and keep pushing your neck downwards?

For some on the forum, it was hard to bear, others, less so. Some people had SI stop them, tho somehow some did it.

its too hard to overcome SI , but y can fool it ; i tried hanging , felt like my head is gonna explode , also blood under skin of my face for days

It is the survival instinct that creates many partial hanging failures from what I've read. Several here have mentioned discomfort but if done properly you will pass out fairly quickly.

Another issue people have reported is an inability to close off the arteries without compressing the trachea.

I have neck issues and tried hanging 3x. My neck issues have worsened. :( I regret those attempts

For me, it didn't hurt. One time I did it and it pushed into my throat wrong and I threw up. I had been drinking though so it was a half assed attempt. My impulsive attempt I fell out of the loop super disoriented. But when it was happening it felt peaceful and kind of euphoric and I remember being surprised that it didn't hurt worse.

That as well as other factors, like weight and thickness of rope
