How do you deal with getting older?

Just as the title says... I am mainly suicidal because of my age. Just turned 36 and found out that I was a victim of narcissist abuse for roughly 25 years, but mainly 12 years of relationship. I feel that I have lost almost my entire youth, all my power to handle with emotions of potential partners and so on. I just want to complete my divorce process, sell the house of me and my wife and spend the money with nothing but fun and food. But I am afraid I cant make it until the money is available...

The thought of ageing and suffering more in the process is something that fills me with dread, I only dread what lies ahead, I see nothing appealing about decaying from age in an existence I never even wished to endure in the first place. For me the only relief lies in death, existence could never be desirable.

How can so many people deal with it so easily? Probably its alcohol/drugs, bullshit media, good family environment or other distractions.

It's a sickening thought, i dont know how aging doesnt scare people more. All the typical distractions, i suppose.
Im very sorry about your narcissistic abuse and upcoming divorce. That is heartbreaking. I hope you can make it till the money comes in. And maybe meet someone new who treats you right.

I used to research life extension/escaping longevity velocity constantly. Getting older is unthinkable, for me.

The more time passes, the more I come to the realisation that I'm never going to improve and even if I did, I'll never get back all those wasted years.

I guess age is a relative number. To me, 36 is still fairly young. How do you deal with getting older? One day at a time, I guess. Actually, getting older is a large part of why I'm going to CTB, too. I hope things work out the way you want and you're able to do all that you desire before you CTB.
