As someone who could/can binge drink 4 bottles of wine in an evening/morning, I totally understand where you're coming from. When I start drinking, even if I have good intentions to only have a few drinks, it rarely ends up that way. I would say 80% of the time results in me getting smashed.

I find myself in a really good mood to begin with, maybe first bottle, but then I can't stop and end up drinking myself into oblivion, self harm and failed suicide attempts.

I think you know you have a problem, people who drink to excess always do deep down. I am still recovering from drinking on Thursday and making a fucking tit of myself. The shame has been crippling.

I wish I had the key to sobriety for you, I used to find watching programs like Intervention and the book 'Kick the Drink... Easily! - By Jason Vale helped. I'm 3 days sober today and really want to do it this time. I've been off the wagon for a year and I've never been more depressed. I think Covid is really hitting us all hard right now. You are not alone and always here to talk.

You've made one great choice today, that was to come here for support rather than pour your heart out of fb and regret it tomorrow.

Yeah, this platform is better than FB, not just in the aspect of non-censorship, but safety as well. I don't trust platforms like FB, Google, and social media, it's just way too easy to get doxxed and/or have intervention. In fact, in the last few years, I heard that FB now has an AI that tracks certain 'concerning' posts, which includes self-harm, danger to self or others, and other similar content. Venting here is much better and safer than on FB as well as having similar minded people around who understand where you are coming from.

So I started this damn thread to preclude me posting on FB - which I have achieved - but I've done it in such a light beer way that I'm just not satisfied going to bed.

And if I can't get regularly drunk how I want then I'm gonna have to ctb, basically. Flippant though that sounds, what the fuck else is there to live for but hedonism?

i did the same. They blocked my account. Drinking, rambling racist, angry at control of women, belligerent.

I just hsd another drink binge after burning thru coleman lantern mantles (unsuccesful exit attempt).
