Have you had damage from an attempt?

Just curious. Wondering if someone here has suffered permanent or temporary damage from an attempt, and how was it.

In my case, nothing more than some bruises in my neck.

I have a kind of deep scar running on my wrist, well my arms are scarred a lot to begin with so it doesnt matter much, it just stands out a lot.

Busted a bunch of capillaries in my face when I tried hanging. Took a week to heal.

I don't think I didn't any permanate damage when i ODed in 2015 but easily could have.

I tried to cut my throat while I was in prison. I knew a girl who had done it so thought it would be ok. It just made a huge mess tbh,which I had to cover with a horrible green poloneck shirt so my folks couldn't see it on visits. Totally cleared up within a year or so.

Kinda impulsively tried to swallow drain cleaner when I was younger. I couldn't eat properly for two weeks because my mouth/tongue was injured and it hurt a lot. Another time I tried partial and passed out but the support broke and I woke up again, realizing that I had bitten my tongue while unconscious. My tongue was bleeding and it hurt for a week.

Why is it always my tongue lol

Unless there's any internal damage I can't see then I've only had temporary damage
One was blisters all over my mouth from trying to drink bleach and another was bruises from a failed attempt to strangle myself

Oh man! You are lucky it didn't do worse damage.

Honestly I'm not sure, I've layed in a room with a disposable bbq for like half an hour but the place wasn't sealed properly, there's really no way for me to know if I actually did damage to my brain or anything, I'd probably pursue getting checked out for many things if I weren't so hopeless.

ommg this scaring me. I live with my mom and i would like CTB through hanging but i dont want her to see me with busted capillaries , red mark or red eyes and alive. Ommg why is life so cruel. How on earth am i gonna ctb now.

You didn't bite it. As you dropped from unconsciousness the ligature pushed your tongue between your teeth like pushing toothpaste from a tube.

Umm well there was the pressure sore that took 6mths of daily wound care to heal, that was from knocking myself out with a drug cocktail that didn't quite bump me off. Then there is the brain damage from a different cocktail that ended up with me in a coma for a few week on a ventilator.
But i guess the biggie would be the jumping 50ft & landing on my feet, shattered & buggered both feet & ankles & fractured spine in 4 places, been a wheelie ever since.

I think that will do me for now!

I broke my arm from a jump some years back. Took a few months to recover and physical therapy. I still have the scar from the surgery.

Had appendix and gall bladder surgery after an OD. Got a bunch of eye floaters (and other visual problems like flashes) and intractable paresthesia all over my head (feels like ants crawling under my skin) that still lasts to this day after my last serious partial attempt.

My digestive system is a bit messed up due to ods and all the crap I took. It's been four years. I was unable to take spicy foods immediately after that. Almost healed now. Now, I face that problem only if I take more spicy food.

Broken nose from a clonidine OD ncars on my wrist and one on my neck from trying to cut it.

Hit my nose too from a clonidine prozosin OD on top of drinking. Some scars on my wrist. No broken nose, but just small cut, at the time and probably concussed. I woke up so thirst I needed water, and just nose dived right on my kitchen tiles. Just a little cut on it, and some blood on the tile.
