For a week after I attempted hanging I felt like I was walking in a dream. I had bruises and busted eye capillaries. Other than that, nothing.
Got bruises from hanging. Not sure how it effected me mentally. I was off and on Benzos and other additives plus a lot of drinking at the time

Just curious. Wondering if someone here has suffered permanent or temporary damage from an attempt, and how was it.

In my case, nothing more than some bruises in my neck.
Did you try full suspension and fail? if so why?

I do not have permanent damage from ctb attempts, I have permanent damages from what was done tome while being "incarcarated" for my crime (=suicide attempt) in psych ward. (i was infected with skin infection, big scar left, infected with virus that will stay forever, finally inappropriate negligent coerced injections, that should NEVER ,under any circumstances be given to sb with such medical history as mine- caused metabolic syndrome, pain under skin through all my body, inability to left the bed almost for whole day for almost a year due to massive effect on a dopa, receptors and other recep, i had bronchitis and pain my chest for over 2 months due to the drugs causing depression to respiratory system, the drug did something to my muscle tissues ,my muscles dissapeared and being replaced with fat storage(most likely diabetes will follow soon if i dont ctb),I experienced severe depression and also impossible anhedonia-smth that I never ever had before ever. and I could go on.) These b astards are one of the worst kind of legal criminals out there

Failed attempt at CO and then an OD attempt: memory issues regarding if things actually happened and also been 4 months and still feel like I am in a dream and world is fake. It hard to explain.

Jeez. I'm so sorry for y'all. This thread should be stickied at the top or something as a cautionary tale. It pays to research and practice and make sure of your method.

When I OD'd on paracetamol and other fun painkillers I remember the temporary effects, it was really weird, when I tried to walk in one direction I ended up walking in the other quite often, really bad stomach aches and I had acid reflux for months.

In my case, nothing more than some bruises in my neck.

Tried a narcotics overdose back in '14, without research or preloading anti emetics etc
Big mistake, after passing out and then waking was vomiting for nearly 10 hours and had kidney pain/issues for over a year.
After that I took time away from the ctb ideation to spend tons reading PPH and "lostallhope.com" learning about methods.

Aww, geez. I'm so sorry. I've heard of that, & it sounds awful. Can you bear weight on that foot at all? I had a similar experience; I attempted a heroin OD & blacked out/nodded out on my leg & cut off circulation to my foot, which became CRPS. I also have a contracture in my leg & foot now as a result of not being able to walk/use that leg/foot.

Had appendix and gall bladder surgery after an OD. Got a bunch of eye floaters (and other visual problems like flashes) and intractable paresthesia all over my head (feels like ants crawling under my skin) that still lasts to this day after my last serious partial attempt.
So you can get a feeling of ants under your skin from attempting partial?

Hey, sad to hear that. Horrible experience.

I can walk again normaly after 2 Years. In this 2 Years I had to use a peroneus rail (hope that is the right name in english). I have a contracture in my great toe, but it is not that bad. Sorry to hear that you have this in leg&foot.

My Compartment-Syndrome was a result of a rhabdomyolysis caused by the Morphine OD. I think we have had the same shit.

Back of neck hurt and had red rope marks. Maybe a little bit of brain damage even though I was hanging for only 5-6 seconds

I almost succeeded from kidneys and liver failure, I survived because someone found me too early.
Poison did some damage to my heart, but I cant recall details. I remember they recorded my heart action and they were not happy.
Poison get to my brain too so they suspect brain damage, they did neurological and cognitive tests on me. But I was fine then.
Today I believe my early onset of Alzheimer could be indirect result of my botched CTB when I was 16.

Oh, thank god you can walk. I'm thinking that means you used a cane. Did your rhabdomyolysis cause you to go into kidney failure? Yes, same shit! I hope you are doing a little better now.

I have not - but as of yet I have not carried out self deliverance. I am trying to gather as much info on the methods and success rate, risks, what's involved etc, as this is something I want to do only once, and not fuck it up.

My thanks go out to all on this thread who share their experiences in their failed attempts.
