If I don't have any obligations I will usually stay in bed for up to 20 hours a day, for 5 days out of 7. Eating, drinking water and bathroom breaks are not necessary.

It's been three years of that now, I practically live in my bed and don't leave home often. Sometimes I take my old medications to sleep as much as possible because being awake is painful.
When my illness ME/CFS got triggered I was bed-ridden for months. I had several episodes where I lost my mind.
Goddam it... The things we go through...
That was years ago, though. I look back on that time as the worst moments of my life.
That sounds awful. I'm glad you got through it. How did you? I want to be able to look back at this time too and say something similar but I don't think I'll make it. It's been about 7 months for me, some days being nearly catatonic, which has definitely contributed to my physical ailments. The worst part is I barely sleep more than 3 hours.
Do you have the same diagnosis as me?
No, I don't. But I know of CFS and I know it's hell. Me? I just gave had bad case of debilitating depression, insomnia, anemia, and some underlying hormonal syndromes. Combine that with environmental factors like being unemployed, no longer having friends or a significant other, and not eating to "cope" or because I can't leave the bed, over the course of several months and voila - - I have a myraid of conditions that were likely otherwise preventable.
I am so sorry for all you have to go through!
Thank you for being so kind but honestly most of this could have been avoided and/or remedied if I had an ounce of drive and hope. It's my inaction that's the real issue, unfortunately. Had a massive snowballing effect.
