Firstly to say- I'm not very political at all. I pretty much never vote because I don't trust any of them- mainly. But, I suppose I don't really know who to trust exactly. Even if one person's policies sound better than another's, I have no confidence they will keep their word.

I just wondered though- with so many suffering- not that one vote likely makes a huge difference but still- have you ever regretted not voting? Have you had the experience of regretting who you voted for? I wonder if more people regret not voting- if only to try to prevent certain people from gaining power.

Do you believe we should all vote? Do you think it's more responsible to at least have a basic grasp of politics and where we stand?

I regretted not voting in my country, but I don't vote because no one explained to me how to vote, my parents never taught me any practical stuff like that and my brain is too fried in order for me to figure out how it works.

I definitely regret not voting last year (USA). I was planning to - had changed my party to Democrat (even though now I'd consider myself a socialist).

The agoraphobia/fear of being seen got to me and I stayed home. I hate it.

I've never regretted voting choices I've made even if I changed my opinion about politicians in the future.

I have regretted voting. My parents filled out my ballot last election and told me to sign it. They told me I owed them my first vote. My mom has gone on drunk spews of me being a "traitor" in the past for my beliefs but I regret not standing up for myself, I regret being afraid to go against them. I know my vote might not have made a difference but I still feel incredibly guilty and hate myself deeply for it.

I do believe everyone should vote because the outcome affects everyone, not just those who choose to vote y'know? And I think it makes us very privileged to be able to choose to vote or not, so we probably should just vote.

I think it might be illegal to force someone to vote a certain way.

I think you're probably right. We ought to really take an interest in who governs us. It would be simpler if they were more trustworthy though.

Not might be, it's very illegal lmao. At least in the U.S. and most western civilizations it is. But yes, it's illegal to coerce someone into voting in general, regardless of who they vote for.
